You can go to jail for either, but it depends on the amount of evidence.

A threat to kill a specific person communicated to that person is a crime. Pulling a knife on someone is a crime. You can go to jail for either. That's the law. What is it that you don't understand?

It is a crime to threaten to kill someone. But there are some specific requirements to the law. In Kansas it is called Criminal Threat and is a felony. I forget what it is called in Oklahoma, but at least it is a misdemeanor in Oklahoma.
If "pulling a knife" on someone means using a knife to put the victim in reasonable apprehension of bodily harm, it is called assault with a deadly weapon and is a felony.

You just don't go to jail for threatening someone. There has to be a lot of evidence, combined with circumstance. You might not even go to jail for pulling a knife on someone. You will of course be arrested.

During a trial or court all kinds of stuff is dissmissed especially if there is no proof or witnesses. I can pull a knife in public and nothing will happen but the mear fact that someone will "Think" I am going to do something. Verbal threantning is a serious thing because your saying something that can create a misunderstanding. dont threathned anyone please.

In most jurisdictions you could go to jail (or at least be charged with a crime) for either action you describe. There must be more to the story.

Over here it would be yes on both counts. If not jail, a hefty fine, or both.
