You don't HAVE to be in a room with no windows....if the risk of serious injury or death isn't that big an issue for you.
The safest way to do it? Smallest and/or most interior room on the lowest floor in your house; these will be closets or the bathroom. Try a closet first if your bathroom has windows. Must you be in the bathroom, get in the tub and squat down with your feet beneath you and your head curled to your chest with your hands grasped around your neck with a pillow to protect your head.
If you have a basement, go there instead.

Yes. Get to the lowest level and try to get as close to the middle of the building as possible, preferably a room with no windows. Try to put as many walls in between you and the tornado as you can.

Tornado? You get on the lowest floor of a building. Stay away from windows. If you're in a motor home get the heck out to more solid building or lay in the lightning safety position on the ground.
