'Babbling' as seen in many places is NOT 'Speaking in Tongues'. For a description of what 'Speaking in Tongues' Actually is, I refer you to the Acts of the Apostles immediately after the descent of the Holy Spirit upon the Apostles.
They went out into the streets and spoke the word of God in their own Aramaic language. The Egyptions, Parthenons, Babylonians, Greeks, Meeds, Persians, etc HEARD the word of God IN THEIR OWN LANGUAGES.
That is something only God can accomplish, with us as his instruments.
Babbling and having someone standing conveniently nearby who can 'translate' the babble into words is a theological con game - and should be avoided for the scam it is.

You begin by way of spending extra time with the Lord in prayer and meditating at the phrase. Look for approaches to develop more potent in Christ. Fellowship with the saints who've the vigour of God operating of their lives. Pray to acquired the filling of the Holy Spirit and the present of tongues. Keep on drawing nearer and looking for his face every day. You would possibly suppose a have to quick and pray a few days, probably even for three days. Go to spirit-stuffed fellowships, well Bible experiences and prayer assembly, and do some thing God tells you to do so far as witnessing is going or ministry of any sort. Even if it is cleansing up after a assembly or replacing diapers within the nursery. Whatever you do, do as unto the Lord and he'll present you. PS. Now if men and women are announcing you do not have the Holy Spirit if you do not talk in tongues that's deceptive. What they imply honestly is that tongues is the proof of the Baptism of the Holy Ghost (see Mark sixteen:17, Acts two:four; 19:four-6, and many others.). But what could also be real is that once you're born once more you might have acquired the Holy Spirit however being baptized within the Holy Ghost way whole immersion within the Holy Spirit and this may increasingly produce a few sort of present. If you did not get the tongues present instantly, then ask for it and do not get worried. I suppose God desires you to have it---simply maintain drawing toward him and keep in his presence. God bless you.

Speaking in tongues isn't babbling. It is speaking a Holy Language. Babbling is not speaking a different language but is speaking nonsense.
Though some of satans deceptive copy cats of this gift is babblying. I can discern it. If a person is raising their hands toward heaven & saying, "bla bla bla bla bla bla bla." in a mocking tone, I can easily discern that it isn't the gift of the Holy Spirit.
Make sure you don't call a person demonic if they are speaking praises to God in tongues (Holy language), in the Spirit of God. Because that may be blasphemy of the Holy Spirit.
Reading an above answer. Being filled with the Holy Spirit with the sign of speaking in tongues doesn't cause depression. Just the opposite. It is a wonderful 'Love High'.

Speaking in tongues (practiced among charsmatics, Holiness, Full Gospel, Pentecostal, Interdenominational believers and a few Catholics) is a gift from God. Acts 2:4, 10:46, 19:6, Mk. 16:17, 1 Cor. 12:10, and 14:5.
I saw a movie about some missionaries some years ago where one of the leading actresses mimicked the phenomenon; it was so fake, of course and her portrayal was not convincing at all. I lost respect for the actress after that. And Hollywood.

Speaking in tongues is not gods gift nor deception from Satan. It is simply, people babbling b/c people do what they see and what they are told. They are told that speaking in tongues is a way to connect with god so they fake it. Only, they don't see it as faking. The mind is a powerful tool.

I have heard this before but what do you mean Satan's deceptions? Why would he do it? Deceive us about what? and what value would it have?
I think after having this experience it can be of God and that it has been proven at times other languages known. Spoken without learning them.
It can be a physical manifestation of a psychological release with no real spiritual meaning or origin. It can be our spirit guided by the Holy Spirit talking to God.

Speaking in tongues can be both. The Holy Spirit gives the believer tongues to relay messages from God and also to edify yourself. (See Corinthians). However, since satan is a master counterfeiter, he can give people tongues too, which is nothing but gibberish. Don't despise tongues. They are for the edification of the Body of Christ.

It is not babbling. We speak in language that we had never learned. Be it Spanish, Hebrew, German, etc. It is a gift from our Creator. The Bible says that when we get the Holy Ghost, this will acompany it. It is the evidence of the infilling. The last time I was at the DMV, I sat next to two people that were having a conversation. I overheard them speaking in a language that I had only heard in Church. I asked them where they were from and they told me rhat they were originally from Lithuania. It was amazing!

It's a gift!! The more you do it, the more clearly / accurately you can hear what the Holy Spirit is saying. It really does build up one's "innerman." It's a Blessing!
The idea that it's from Satan is hogwash! Just another demonic tactic to cripple our effectiveness as Christians! Sadly, some have believed that.

I think it was a gift from God, but is no longer needed/relevent. Today, when people speak in tongues, i believe it is ecstatic babbling and another one of satan's deceptions.
