Why not visit a farm with your cousin - one where they keep chickens and turkeys and see the difference. They both look the same when they are plucked and frozen in the supermarket- but yes they do both lay eggs. And don't worry you are not the only dorks on yahoo answers!!!

Turkeys and chickens are both birds, but different types of birds.
They both lay eggs. They do not give birth to live young.

They are both in the Fowl family. They look different and taste different. Turkeys grow much larger than chickens. They are reproduced by eggs that are laid.
