I can completely relate to you after taking prozac i have found it hard as i had such a rapid weight gain-i didn't even recognise myself
you start to become paranoid and think you are eating too much when you actually eat less...How can that be???
its very frustrating i am still trying to lose weight but its a slow process.
The worse thing about it is doctors will not admit there is a connection between anti-depressants and weight gain-if they did no-one would take them.
Don't give up!

It's doubtful anything is wrong. Your body is making the changes seen in womanhood. It is harder to lose weight as you get older. Watch the sugar intake. Eat fruits and nuts(good calories) fiber and stay away from the breads, gravies, salad dressings, and
meat like pork. No fast food. Exercise every day 20 minutes, or 5 minutes with your heart rate pumping hard. The last is the most effective way to dump the pounds. In a week you can lose almost a pound a day. I have seen it work many many times including myself.
Life is so unfair. We hit 18 and suddenly it's like we are old or something! You have a great attitude.
Keep the attitude and you will drop the pounds like hot potatoes. Call your Doctors nurse. Ask her about weight gain post-zoloft. It could be a side-effect.
Usually the gain is associated with while you are taking the anti depressent.
Oi good luck!
good karma Miss.

Nothing is wrong with your body, but if you look at the side effects of most anti-depressants, they do cause weight gain.
Sad but true...
Which would you rather live with? Stable moods or a couple of extra pounds?

nothing is wrong with your body, and yes some anti-depressants do cause you to gain and retain weight, check with your doctor for healthy ways to loose weight and also to see if you need to loose any weight. Good luck and I hope everything works out for you.

OMG! Yes, I lost weight at first on it then I blew up like kirsty Alley off her diet! But when I got off and switched then I lost it all again! Most all Anti Depressants will do that. Lexapro was great for me!

Yup. Anti-depressants mess with your metabolism, both while you're taking them and once you're weaned off them. Try to be patient. It'll probably take a couple of months before your metabolism is back to "normal" and you should see a big difference, assuming you're still eating a well-balanced diet and getting enough exercise then.

My doctor says that some anti-depressants actually promote weight-gain. (Prozac after long periods of use, for example.)
