What patterns did you notice during the first few weeks of recovery on lexapro. I feel great one day then I feel like sleeping all of the next day. Does this get better? Am I expecting too much? I have been on 20mg of lexapro for 2 weeks and 1 day.

it takes four to six weeks to build a level on lexapro, just be patient for a while longer. just giving up is not an option.

I would ask this question to your doctor. I take Lexapro and do not notice any specific feelings of being more tired or less tired. You may be suffering from anxiety as well as depression, in which case, Lexapro is NOT the right drug for you. My husband and I have both been taking Lexapro since we found out about his cancer - to help us cope, but during his recent stay in the hospital he also started experiencing anxiety. They told us Paxil is a better choice when dealing with the combination depression and anxiety. Only you and your doctor can decide what is best for you and if your present symptoms are normal for you. Two weeks is not a long time on Lexapro. It can take a month before you regulate your system.

Remember, each person's system varies. We all react differently to drugs. Ask your doctor as he knows you the best.

Patience(unfortunately) is the watch word here. talk to your psychiatrist(hopefully it's not just a regular MD prescribing it, even though they'll tell you they know everything about these meds) and I hope you're in talk therapy as well. You will recover, it maytake a while. I've had 2 major depressions in my life. The second time it took probably closer to 6 months before I felt more like myself, and a year before I was 100% BUT the great news is that was 9 years ago. It's awful when you are in it, but hang on to every little victory. there is no magic to this, Make sure you have the right professionals in your corner God bless
