I have tried every flea drop, flea spray, sprayed my house and yard, bombed my house and year, got the exterminator out to spray and the fleas seem to be attracted to it! Help!

i agree with most of whats said already, but i have to stress on getting rid of them in your house. go to a feed store or something and get yourself a good insect growth regulator(igr). that will cut down their life cycle and sterilize them as well.. and make sure you get something like frontline for ALL the animals in the house. that capstar works well too, tho its mostly just to kill off the fleas on the animal with no extended protection. I also spray the yard once a month with a pesticide. good luck, its going to be a long battle. just dont give up.

'Every' treatment? Have you tried anything from a vet?

Pet store and supermarket treatments don't work. Collars, 'bombs', shampoos - all useless. I haven't heard great results from people who've called the exterminators out either - I don't think they'd have access to any chemicals that vets haven't.

Just get some Frontline, Advantage or Revolution. Make sure it gets on your dog's skin, not his fur. And get a decent housespray from a vet - you'll probably have to spray more than once, to get the flea eggs that hatch out in the interim. No collars, no pet store crud - just proper stuff that works.

I recently overcame about the worst flea infestation ever. I went to the vet and bought capstar pills (about a three week supply) that I gave my dogs daily. I also bought frontline. Three weeks later I bought frontline again. I treated my house and yard several times and now it is all under control. It took a good 2-3 months of consistent treatment of the house and dogs but now all I have to do is treat my dogs once a month with frontline. Make sure during this process that you vacuum alot. I was vacuuming twice a day...furniture and floors.

We have always had a lot of pets growing up and my mother swears by using dawn soap in the bath, she says it brings them up to the surface, then you pick them off into the water. Also buy frontline it seems to work good. If you live in a moist, humid area this will also bring out the fleas outside.

"Everything" is a waste of time and money and can harm your dog.

The ONLY thing that works completely is a topical flea preventative on the back of the dog's neck
EVERY SINGLE MONTH.

Frontline, Advantage work just fine - anything else is just a waste.
