I asked my Dr today about the juice body cleansing, she said it should be done for no more then 48 hours. So what results can I expect in that time frame? I am looking for some weight loss.
Thanks

First, let's establish the correct definition of juice. If you are going to attempt a juicing detox/cleanse, make sure it is fresh fruit and vegetable juice that is commonly found at health food stores, juice bars and from homemade juicers. The sugary stuff found in the store is not safe for this type of fasting.
Having said that, you should juice at least three times per day with a smaller portion of juice in between. Make sure you mix things up - don't drink all fruit juice or all veggie juice. If you are looking for a good cleanse, make sure you include garlic, cabbage and beets in your juices of choice. They all have great cleansing qualities. (Just don't overdo it on the cabbage and beets! A small amount goes a long way).
You can first and foremost expect to be hungry during these 48 hours. I strongly suggest that you still eat solid foods like carrots, cucumbers, bell peppers, bananas, apples, etc. Just don't eat anything that's been processed.
The second thing you can expect is going to the restroom a lot. Make sure you are also drinking plenty of water. The two go hand in hand as the water will bring toxins to the surface of your body's major organs and the juice will help flush the toxins away. You'd do well to stay near the facility. It's perfectly fine...your body is supposed to do this as it rids itself of harmful things. Don't be surprised if you are a little gassy and burp a bit.
During this cleanse, you should not feel weak or light-headed. That is a sign that you are not consuming enough juice, water or raw foods. If you feel this way, stop the diet and slowly reintroduce yoru body to solid foods.
You might not lose *a lot* of weight, but your body will thank you!

Your doctor was politely saying that its nonsense. He/she figured you couldn't mess yourself up too badly in only 48 hours.

"Cleansing" doesn't do anything different than a laxative or enema. Any change in the number on your scale is due to temporary water loss and/or a temporary loss of "work in process" in your intestines. There is no effect at all on stored fat, other than the very small effect of taking in fewer than normal calories for a couple of days.

It's really only water weight you lose in those first 48 hrs - and will prob be between 2-10 lbs max. You should only do that to jump start a new diet.
