Let's take an average 72-par golf course for example, how many miles would you have walked at the end of the round?

Wow! Disagreements, how interesting.

Bottom line: I am looking for a golfer who might have wore a pedometer during a round of golf and has an approximation of real walking distance.

You never walk a straight line, and you do hit some stray shots.

Richard is incorrect. You will walk between holes, and you may have to walk to look for your balls the other players in your group. I usually walk about 5-6 miles in 18 holes.

Nelson_D is incorrect. If he's walking 5 - 6 miles per round of golf he must be hitting 1/4 mile slices.

Average is over 6 miles, the reason for this the actual yardage from Tee to Green. If you include walking in between Tees that will all add up, and average amateurs is not always hitting the ball straight .
