It's another psalm of prayer to the Lord for protection.....
David did that alot....because Saul sought to kill him.....and David seemingly had the world against him at all times.
But God wins in the end.......

i think the core meaning of this psalm is to always ,regardless of the enormity of any circumstance to always remember the greatness of GOD. we are after talking about the one that spoke all things into existance and holds them simply by the power of his word. he is a great GOD and we should always remember this regardless of the things that go on around us.
