Ok - I'm getting older (dang it!) and I need some GOOD stuff that won't break the pocketbook for my face and especially around my eyes.
Any recommendations that REALLY work?

HAHA - guys - I've read Cosmo! LOL

Get those brains out of the gutter and save that for Happy Hour, which I wish would hurry up and get here! :)

Mastey products have no dyes, oils, waxes, propylene glycol, or sulfate based surfactants. They are also not tested on animals and contain no animal products. And they use natural humectants synthesized from vegetable sources to replenish skin's moisture and elasticity. (Some other humectants sit on the surface of the skin and actually suck moisture OUT, but the smaller molecular size of these allows them to penetrate the skin)

Not cheap though, but comparable to many spa products.

EDIT

The KEY is in gentle cleansing, because if you don't strip your skin, it will be much happier! Even many EXPENSIVE cleansers contain Laurel or Laureth Sulfates which have a high irritancy and which break down your skin as well as the oil and dirt.

First wash your face morning and night with a good cleanser like clearasil. Then use an acne cream like clearasil or zapzit.

i like oil of olay. you have to get one that is half way decent. don't expect $2 cream to work. Unless it's the jergens or ponds and that may break you out from clogging up your pores. Sacrifice when you get some extra $$ and try Nars. I saw a lady in the subway and her face was glowing she was white so i had to ask. I see some black woman like my mom with glowing skin but it's because she is like you want to take care of it. :) good ole vaseline works too. my aunt is 72 and her skin is fabulous.

My mother had the most beautiful skin and I attribute it to (1) She drank lots of water and (2) she used Oil of Olay for years. My oldest sis has very soft skin and in her 70's and no wrinkles and she said she has always washed her face every night with Dove soap. So, I'm trying all 3 things!

Philosophy's Hope In A Jar. I usually wait for it to be a Today's Special Value on QVC and then the prices are really outstanding.

You could use Neutrogena brand, it's Norweigan made, and it's the finest brand that doesn't cost an outrageous amount of money.
I don't use face creams because I have oily/acne prone skin.

Melfie, can I just thank you for being in an upbeat mood today!

I would try clinique or nutrogena is a really nice cheaper option.

Proactive has a great green tea eye serum, you only have to use a little drop. I have been using it for a little over a month now; I can totally see and feel an improvement.
