Turning 18 should mean many new privileges for you, but not complete freedom. The reason is, you are not self-sufficient yet. You do not take complete care of yourself, nor do you pay for all your expenses. Your mother does most of that, so you have to follow her rules. Once you are completely on your own, you can do as you please. By then, all the responsibilities of adulthood will temper any "going crazy" that you might be tempted to do.

Not even your mom can do anything she wants. She has to work, pay bills, make sacrifices for you. And she's a grown adult without anyone telling her what to do. Have some mercy on her. The day you are paying for your own rent, groceries, health/dental insurance, car payment, car insurance, car registration, car repair, gas/water/trash bill, internet access, telephone, electricity, clothes and other necessities........then you and your mother will be peers. She may give you advice, but she can't tell you what to do. It has nothing to do with your age, and everything to do with your level of responsibility. She should be teaching you how to manage on your own. If not, you need to take the initiative and begin to cut ties to home, especially financially. If she sees you taking more responsibility, she may be inclined to give you more freedom.

Don't go crazy. Have fun, but don't be ridiculous. And concentrate on your studies. The real world is coming faster than you know it.

;-c Well "CrAzY , Bored,confused,left-out,neglected <--< May be how you may feel at times !?! Possibly because you just may not know how to deal with or handle a few things !?! That's if nobody has tried to teach/inform you of some things that you might expect when dealing with others in some institution of higher learning & the goings on socially!?! So just try going by the scheduled day !!& at first when you have free time do some studying!! & I'm sure after awhile you'll be used to things at (ECU)!?! congradulations !! & you might then make up your own little schedule of things to do when possible !?! "Focus on you mostly !! Other things will fall into place" .~!! '`R"r,r`r.r'-

In all honesty, I was told the same thing by EVERYONE that I knew (family and friends) because I wasn't allowed to do ANYTHING myself growing up....my mother was over controlling and not nice to me at all....but, once I graduated, I started college the fall after and moved out January of 2006 and I did NOT go crazy - I just decided that instead of having to ask and be told that I couldn't do something that I would go and do it, like going to a friend's house or whatever....as long as you know that you might go crazy and you stick to your limits after you get out of the house you won't....you'll be fine....feel free to email me for more help if you want to....

ok, your mom is a few distance too strict. i'm 11, i may have outfits i pick to placed on, i won't be able to carry out with friends, i can in college, i can play video games i pick to, you get the point. She needs to comprehend you're growing to be up. you're 12, no longer 5. you opt for her to get to the point that she is conscious you're growing to be up. you'd be a teenager quickly and he or she will nonetheless act like you're 5. If she does this, contained in the evening at the same time as you adult adult males sleep, run away, i'm in basic terms kidding. in basic terms tutor her that you're growing to be up, make her comprehend that you aren't any more some freaking 5 365 days previous.

You won't go crazy. Your head will spin for a bit, and then you'll just learn to let it go. It probably means that you're more likely to do less and your more likely to be a bit more conservative then not because you're not used to going crazy.

you won't go crazy unless you want to. You were raised to be good. Most people keep what they are trained to be with them. You need to ask your self " am i a bad girl" if you are then problem so if not then no that is your chose

i know how you feel, when you go away, just try not to get toooo involved in stuff like parties especially drinking it can ruin your reputation, but if you wanna fit in just play cool and forget about your strict mom, not entirely but just enough to be able to get through college without her breathing down your neck and asking interrigating questiongs

Probably, just try to take it one step at a time and be relaxed about it.

It sounds like you are, since your thinking about it. Just be aware of what you do and why you do it.

here is the thing, you are under your mothers roof so you have no say in the matter, so get over it. And its up to you if you go crazy or not.
