Surfing on the California coast is more fund than in Europe, but I would avoid Malibu right now, big fires are occurring there right now. The best surf break I know of is one called Tressles.

Personally I would like to go to Europe. But that's my opinion. I would rather travel the world, and like to see new things in life, then surfing, but it's fun, also!

I learned to surf in Oregon....didn't have to set foot in Cali.
What is nice about Oregon beaches is the breaks can be much better there and ALL of their beaches are public....you can surf anywhere!

There are waves everywhere. Even in Wisconsin--yeah, check it. Broaden your horizons. Learn to surf in France, England, Oz. You can do both, have it all.
