chewing gum =/ Will it stay in her stomach or pass in a day or two?

It is sugar-free unfortunately. Dog has been sent to the vets so she is in safe hands. I have just been asked to read out the ingredients ( Jess managed to save this part of the wrapper) and it doesn't contain the poisonous chemical. Otherwise, she would have had to have been made sick. I will update you once I hear more.

You need to watch the gum thing. If the gum is sugarless and contains Xorbital (spl)(it says it on the front of the pkg) it can be toxic to a dog. If it does you should call your vet. If it is just a piece of regular gum I wouldn't worry about it. Kids swallow gum all the time. It should pass with in a few days.

~~~Xylitol is the sugar substitute that is toxic.
Good, I am glad it didn't have Xylitol in it. I used to chew gum my favorite was one that contained it. I actually stopped chewing it for that reason. I figured if it will kill my dog. Whats it doing to me. Anyway....Hope all is well.
Unless it is sugar free gum sweetened with Xorbital it will be fine. If it was only one piece she'll pass it in a day or so and you won't even notice. If it was an entire stick or package it might cause diarrhea and maybe an upset tummy but shouldn't cause any other problems.
If it was sugar free gum you need to call your vet or animal poison control immediately as the Xorbital usually used to sweeten these kinds of gum is toxic to dogs and could kill her.
It'll pass in a day or two with no problem. The whole staying in the stomach thing is a myth. The stomach acid is strong enough to break up gum without a problem.
My jack russell pup found some chewing gum and ate loads of it. I was really worried and had a trip to the vet, he said it should pass through her as normal. It did and she's been fine ever since. She still eats absolutely anything.
Probably pass. Just watch the dog for 3 days. If a. she stops eating, b. she vomits, c. she stops pooping or looks in pain, take her to the vet ASAP. The most important is that she poops OK, if she doesn't, go to the vet.
It will pass through. My dogs have managed to get away with eating socks, squeaky toys, kitchen towel and all sorts over the years and, although I wouldn't recommend it, all has passed through with no problem.
it will pass in a few days but next time make sure they don't get hold of any as this could get stuck in their throats and may make it hard for them to breathe but if they swallow it its OK and it will pass in a day or two
hope this helps
