The original battlebots were especially wimpy because of contest rules and safety, so that it was only a short time before the winners were mostly the ones that had a low profile and flipped opponents. It would have been a lot more fun if we had unlimited class battlebots that brought serious power to see some real destruction. How come it's not been done yet?

Absolutely, amansscientiae, it shows that evolution works. But hey, don't throw a wet towel on this idea before it's even started! Okay, we can have rules prohibiting thermonuclear weapons.
