In my previous question, I asked if anyone would accept $500 million as long as they never prayed or went to church ever again. One guy said that all of those christians who said no should take the money and make the sacrifice just like how jesus sacrificed himself, and that they should be ashamed of themselves for saying no.

So since a lot of people supposedly wouldn't have made that sacrifice for all of that money, is there anyone who would make any kind of sacrifice for their religion?

Go ahead and give me the money. I will reluctantly make that kind of sacrifice.

There are many people that you hear about who sacrifice their lives.

In some cases, it is to save a child, family member, or complete stranger.

This may at the time not be a conscious thought of doing it for ones religion, but it is never the less a sacrifice of the individual for the good of humankind.

I think God Would approve.

I would hope that I would make sacrifices for my faith, but never having been put to the test, how can I say? I will say that I could never give my faith up for anything, it is too much a part of me & who I am. I hope I never have to make sacrifices for my faith. I am so thankful that I live in a country & in a time that allows freedom of religion. On some level I suppose all believers today do make a sacrifice when they stand up & say they are believers b/c of the reactions of non-believers.

whats up, do no longer insult the pagans. no longer all of them decide for the human sacrifice factor. yet you're onto some thing with the Christianity-Pagan connection, as many Christian rites--adorning the Christmas tree, holiday lights, the Easter bunny, the egg hunts, etc.--have been initially pagan traditions. Early Christians replaced some issues so pagans may be sort of "compelled" to transform. As for the have faith in African cultures that intercourse with a virgin will treatment AIDS, i think of a few guy invented that as the thank you to injury out with rape. no longer a destructive analogy--sacrifice an harmless to shop somebody else, and does it ever paintings? there is a lot approximately Christianity i hit upon atypical, yet then i'm an agnostic Jew.

I think I could make that sacrifice. I would have a good long cry first and pray continually. Not for "religion" but for God, Jesus and mankind.

whoever say yes or no, you cant be certain for nothing is for certain in the universe. Words are easy to say. Maybe there is someone out there who would definately sacrifice himself/herself when the real time comes and wheter that person says yes or no.

The way I see the story...

He didn't "sacrifice" himself...or even try to "martyr" himself...

He simply didn't fight back with violent opposition when they arrested, tortured, and executed him on a "trumped-up" charge that he was innocent of...

To put his "life" where his teachings were...

He used "non-violent" protest against his accusers...

Which...essentially...resulted in Him "being" sacrificed to the masses at the bequest of the Jewish and Roman political groups of the time, who felt "threatened" by his growing popularity, and message of peace among all peoples...

And the biggest threat to "the powers that be" back then and to the present day, is...

Peace...(the military machine must be "fed" and "maintained" by violence, strife, hatred, and oppression...)

So...No...

I wouldn't do that...

Because I wish to die of old age...

I would sacrifice myself if I knew I would be saving 1 or more people. That's the way I roll!

If it meant saving lives, I'd sacrifice my own life. And something here to behold is I'm Agnostic. Religion means nothing in the eyes of life.

their are lots of people who die for their beliefs I sacrafice each day believing it is my duty to care for my family and serve them It is not phsyical death but sometimes it is the death of what I would prefer to do my wants and my time this may not be a satisfactory answer for you...come care for three small kids 24 hrs a day...no sitter for 3 years....cook clean and see that this is harder than you give credit for...I am an intelligent woman making a daily choice and I am not unhappy for it trying to explain a different form of sacrifical love.

God wouldn't want us to sacrifice our religion for money even if you put the money to charity. He will provide another path in order to help others. This question is ridiculous.
