...the Salvation Army?

Overtly Christian. They're 'Bible Thumpers', although polite, they are.

Does it bother you that they apply the 'Golden Rule' and preach worldwide?

Absolutely not. I've done a lot of charity work with the local one, a friend of mine used to work there.

I don't mind the helpful, friendly, courteous religious folks. It's the judgmental ones that use their faith to validate their own hate and bigotry I don't like. Most Christians I associate with also don't like them. :)

Hi....

Well, the Salvation Army at least seem to actually do some good in society, helping homeless and drug addicts etc etc.

I don't see many other, so called christian groups or individuals doing much to practically help anyone else, except to try and convert everyone to their cause!!!

Although when the Salvation Army do help, i am sure that they 'also' try to convert those helped!!

So, in a way, at least a small percentage of the so called 'saved', will eventually be giving money 'back into' the church!!

So, there is a price to pay for salvation!!!?

They're annoying at times if they're too pushy but I have real problems to worry about so they're pretty far down the list.

This doesn't mean I'm going to donate anything to them. Before the current administration my donations were pretty regular and broadly distributed. Now I think enough of my tax dollars goes to "faith based initiatives" so I have narrowed my donations to those who are often shunned by religious groups. I'm judging no one but I give to those who need it most.

I only wish all Christians would follow the golden rule. Pretty much anyone trying to convert can not claim to follow the golden rule because I doubt they would be very open to being converted.

"might you be extra desirable keen to look at Christianity (or Islam) and think "hiya, possibly there is a few reality on the lower back of this"?" possibly. yet you will possibly although have have been given to bypass a protracted long long thank you to demonstrating that there replaced right into a deity in the lower back of it. inspite of each and every little thing an atheist via way of definition would not have faith in deities. that would not which comprise an absence of perception in 'reality'. It actual sounds like what you're describing is closer to Buddhism. inspite of the certainty that i'm now no longer a Buddhist the two. I evaluate surprisingly strongly in peace in spite of the certainty that. i think our speedy time alive is thoroughly wasted on absurdities like conflict hate and violence. I even have faith strongly in letting persons stay their lives although they like as much as the factor the placement it impacts others. that's clearly my nicely suited objection to a pair Christians and Christianity. If christians might grant you with the choice to make their concept gadget a concept technique and now no longer a 'make others evaluate at any fee' technique i might a minimum of expertise they have the splendid familiar philosophy. I evaluate you will possibly get extra desirable flies because it have been with honey than thumbscrews.

I have no problem with the salvation army. When I go in there to either donate things to or to buy, they don't push anything on me. I come, I go, the only thing that has to do with god is the pamphlets in a stack on the counter, which I leave for someone else that might be interested.

I hate the Salvation Army. Biggest scam artist I've ever seen. I no longer put change in their red buckets. I'd put poop in there if I could.

I don't object to other Christian organizations though, just that one.

I have no objection to the Salvation Army; they're not really the "in your face" type of people.

No problem with the Salvation Army whatsoever, although I will say that my friend who worked there got treated like crap by her bosses after they found out she was pregnant out of wedlock.

yes it does.

they apply the "false golden rule".

the do onto others crap.

the real golden rule as known by all bankers and moneylenders is: "whoever has the gold makes the rules".

that is a universal truth.

I do have a problem with any religious group prostheletizing under the guise of help.
