We are stationed at Miramar in San Diego, but my husband will be at 29 Palms for Sgt's Course during the time of the Ball so they said we'd have to go to that one which we've heard is in Las Vegas. We have a 2 year old little girl and are trying to get all the arrangements prepared early so that we know we are good to go. Thanks! :) ~Amber

I have been to four Marine Corps Balls, of those four times, twice I have seen a small child at the event... Nobody said anything.... and it didn't bother me!

Besides... nowhere on the invite does it say that you cannot bring children... That being said... I'm bring my baby (14month old)!

However, if I had someone in my life I could trust with my baby, then I probably would ask them to watch my child... but I don't!

My plan is to leave during the formal part and return during dinner. If anyone doesn't like it... I hope they tell me... because I'll ask them to point out, where it says children aren't welcome.

No. It's a ball....Hence the identify. It way For Adults Only. It's intended to be a night time out for spouses and marines....I'm no longer definite if the Marines have an FRG just like the Army, however for those who do, speak to them approximately childcare. Most of the time whoever is throwing the ball may have a few type of childcare supplied for the youngsters. Go out and revel in and night time sans youngsters!!

There are TONS of 24/7 baby sitting services in Las Vegas. Most can be found via the internet.

Do not use an in-room baby sitting service at your hotel. It will cost a fortune and usually they limit it to 4-6 hours.

Your best bet would be to leave the kid with friends in San Diego and make it a romantic weekend for the two of you in Las Vegas.

I would suggest you leave your child with a friend at home. NEVER EVER take children to ADULT functions! People that do that are just incredibly rude! We don't care HOW cute you think little Sally or Bubba is.
If that offends you, you need some EDUMACATIN' in social graces.
Doesn't 29 Palms host a US Marine Birthday Ball? It IS a US Marine base.

You can never take a child to any military ball.
Unless things have changed in that few years childcare has always been left up to the parents.
I suggest to look into the hotel services you are staying at and call them. Remember you are going to Vegas that never sleeps and never allowed to take children into casinos, so this would be a common problem.

Children do not belong at a Birthday Ball. child care is normally arranged for by the parents, the Committee does not provide any.

check with your hotel. Some have babysiting services available for a charge but they are usually pricey. Why not take along your own babysitter if you have a younger sister who might want to join you. All it takes is a room with two double beds to have room for everyone.
