Rabbinical sources record that forty years prior to the destruction of the Temple in A.D. 70, the Romans forbade the Jewish authorities to administer the death penalty. This means this right was taken away around A.D. 30, shortly before the Crucifixion.
The reason the Sanhedrin (the Jewish governing body that sentenced Jesus to death) sought the Romans' sanction, whereas the mobs that tried to stone Jesus did not, is that the Sanhedrin was a formal court, located in Jerusalem; they would have been identifiable and answerable under Roman law. The mobs, on the other hand, were anonymous groups trying to dispense vigilante justice. Lynch mobs do not observe the legal requirements of administering the death penalty. If they did, they wouldn't be lynch mobs.
Even today in Israel, if you are alone in the country and run afoul of a local mob (be it Israeli, Arab, or other) you may get stoned (ultra-orthodox Jews are known for sometimes stoning cars that drive on the sabbath

Romans were in control they conquered all of Europe and part of middle east. Romans did what they wanted. I don't think all Jews wanted Jesus dead. There is corruption in every race. I think the corrupt leaders, saw Jesus as a threat. Because he had captured people's attention. They did not know, what they were doing. They did not believe he was the son of god. They were foolish. I'm black and black Africans sold us to slave traders. Races and cultures all have terrible dark sides. But were all human first. So, I don't judge people for the past. We live in the future.

The Jews were forbidden to execute anyone after the injust killings of Prophets Zacharias and John the Baptist. All what the Jews could do was to send an appeal to the Romans to execute Jesus.
It is worthy to note that it wasn't Jesus Christ that was crucified, but rather Jesus Barabbas. Barabbas means "the sone of his father" and this was both a good word and a bad word; a good word for the rebellious Barabbas meaning that he was brave enough and of full viriltiy...and a bad word for Christ because they knew no father to him.
This mistake made the Romans crucify the rebellious Barabbas instead of Christ. On his cross was written: "Jesus son of his father, king of the Jews" because Barabbas was the leader of the Jewish revolt that was crushed by the Romans. "King of the Jews" was a mock for Barabbas' attempt to unite and lead the Jews in rebellion against the Roman occupiers.
The events taking place prior to the crucifixion were the plannings of GOD to save his prophet Jesus and then punish the Jews for their infidelity. Jesus Christ was saved and ascended to the Fourth Heaven where he still reisdes; waiting for GOD's order to him to descend back to earth to kill the Antichrist and rule the world many years in absolute peace and fluorishment.

Because, the Jews were living under a Roman occupation. As such, they were under Roman law, which meant that they were not allowed to put people to death without Roman approval.

It was Pontius Pilate, a Roman, who passed a judgment of death by crucifixion to Jesus. It wasn't the Jews alone who were at fault.

The Jewish leaders wanted the death penalty for Christ, but only the Romans could impose it at the time since they were in power.

Crucifixion was the method of the Romans. The Jews would have stoned him, but they could not because of the strong support from the many many people he healed and delivered.
If they had tried that, the people (Jews ) would have turned on their own "religious leaders" and killed them!
