i think it's a normal result of being out in the sun every summer. i don't think what you eat will make any difference. the only way you will get your skin back to your original color is if you avoid the bright sunshine and wear sunblock.
p.s any skin color looks beautiful if it is healthy looking, so just take care of yourself and if you that intent on looking a little lighter maybe try a tinted moisturiser (try mixing a little foundation that is a little bit lighter than your color now with some normal moisturiser).x

p.s again-- in fact i think everybodys' skin gets slightly darker since when they were a child, just like hair gets a little bit darker, it is to do with the melanin (pigment) production increasing as you get to a teenager. that is why you see little children who have light brown hair when they are a child and when they get older their hair darkens. i think the same happens with your skin. look at your parents to see what shade theirs is, then you can see if yours is the same. if it is, then it's genetic. don't worry hun, i'm sure you still are beautiful, but my best advice to get it how you want it is to try mixing lighter foundation with moisturiser, then put it on your face in the mornings, just quite a thin layer, and dust a little bit of light powder on as well.x

ok another tip, i use natural yogurt on my face for other reasons, but a by-effect is that when i leave the yogurt on for 20 mins to half an hour, it temporarily whitens your skin. at least it does with mine, Cleaopatra also used to bathe in milk (not sure from which animal, maybe ***, like a mule, or goat) but i'm not suggesting you do that lol. x

LOL..silly, what you eat or drink does not affect your tone. I had the same problem, what I did was stay away from sun completely. Course I worked nights and slept days, but now I go out in the sun alot and have kept my very light skin by applying sun tan lotion regularly, first in the morning before going out and then I keep applying 2 or 3 more times after that.

the damage you did to your skin by tanning when younger is unfortunately permanent. Now you get to spend the rest of your life looking for skin cancer. You can prevent further damage by using sunblocks and sunscreens and protecting yourself from exposure to the sun.
