And no bread. Would that be safe and healthy for a few days, or a week or two, to take off 10 lbs of stomach fat from a 175lb 6' male, age 68, in good shape? Stomach exercises also. I do also take some vitamin and other supplement pills including a little DHEA.. Would roughage or other foods be needed? 6-8 little meals a day, mostly early AM, none after 6PM except liquids. No meat eating, eggs OK.

Doctor? I have not been to a doctor in over 35 years. Alway, when I drink about 6-8 glass of 2% milk a day, I alwayslose weight and lose fat. It cuts down my high appetite for sweets. German, French, some English ancestry might be the reason.
Yes, I could try this only 25% day 1, then 50% day 2, then 75% day 3, 100% thereafter. I want to lose 10lbs fast before Thanksgiving; then I want to slowly put that back on over the long-cold 5 month Winters here. Global freezing will soon return ! Be slightly fat ! Al Gore is so wrong.

Thanks for all the good diet tips. Drinking more water when hungry is excellent tip. In 2 days, doing diet 25% and then 50%, I've already brought my waist down from 39.25" to 37.5". (Max diaphram air in waist + all air out waist /2 average) 34" is ideal. Body fat only on stomach area, not much fat anywhere else. Dropping 25 sweets and 1 beer/day is the hard part. I hate celery and raw carrots, Small grean peas & spinach OK. Last 65 plus years, I am used to eating up to 6-8oz of peanut butter a day, a la spoon (no bread) -- no problem. Tomorrow, I'll go 100% on this diet and see what happens. My dad lived to age 91 and always poured 5 to 6oz of processed white sugur on his spaghetti and meatballs, and more sugar in a cup than coffee. Large 235 lb muscular body, but never fat. Anti-diabetic type maybe, if there is such a thing ?

a no grains diet is not going to hurt you, though a small amount of brown rice at least at dinner time will not hurt either, especially if you are going to diet for two weeks. You really should not neglect the raw vegetables! Stay away from iceberg lettuce as not only is there no nutritional value but it is hard to digest. Foods that are difficult to digest can throw off you weight loss plans. have some raw fruits , blueberries, apples, banana . . . blueberries are the best! Include some spinach in your diet - I like raw salads with spinach, red onion, and shredded carrots. These are essential for getting the vitamins and minerals you need in your diet. Make sure you are eating some kind of protein- fish is good, low in fat, has the essential omega 3s in it .
Peanut butter is good for protein but I would be careful about limiting my diet so much for a whole two weeks- especially with something like peanuts, you risk stressing your digestive system to the point of developing a food allergy or intolerance.
Try egg whites and fish for alternative protein sources, low in fat and has other health benefits.
My biggest advice though is don't neglect the whole foods, raw fruits and vegetables should be the bulk of your diet.

You want to watch the amount of peanut butter you eat. Peanut butter is very concentrated. In fact you would probably be better off eating raw (or roasted unsalted) natural peanuts. Sunflower seeds are great eat all you want. Again, however watch the salt content of the flavored ones. Water is a must, drink water every time you think you feel hungry. A lot of times our body is asking for water and we think it wants food. Low fat milk is good too but not a replacement for water as the body will not recognize the milk molecules as the water it needs. So think of milk as food. Grapefruit juice is good but again the grapefruit sections would be better as you would get the benefit of the fiber not only for your digestive track, but you also will burn more calories.

I don't see any serious problems with this diet on a limited basis, however I would really like to see some greens included. Raw broccoli would be excellent. Fresh pineapple would give your diet a little perk also.

Eat fruit in the morning because the sugar will give you a good start of energy.

Hydrate 6 - 8 times a day or more.

Protiens and fats before 1:00 pm.

Vegies and milk in the afternoon and evening.

Don't eat anything white.

Eggs boild. Eat the whole egg because the yolk has lethisen that counteracts the colosteral. An interesting note: blue and green eggs from Araconna or Americona chickens have less colosteral.

I'm 66 and I agree about Gore. In any case global warming may be what we'll have to live with. It has some advantages I suspect. It seems closer to how we were. Of course we would have to move New York inland a bit. An inconvenience for sure.
I keep getting the report that beans and rice, I prefer brown, are a complete protein and their affect on me would seem to confirm that. Atkins may have missed an amelioriting affect on the carbohydates of this powerful protein. I would be an experiment on your part, of course, and your probably looking for something better documented although some of the best tips are undocumented. The transistor was invented by a 12 or 13 year old boy in Virginia and an Indian white collar worker produced forty pages of math solutions without showing any steps. Some where even unknown before. There are more things on heaven and earth, Horatio and all that. lol I wish you well. How much over are you? I lost 17 pounds and kept it off when I got spirituality and bursting with love a couple of years ago from switching from judgmental words to positive descriptive ones. Go figure. I guess I threw in absolute forgiveness and thanksgiving. Isn't that the sermon on the mount?

It would be better for you to eat more raw vegetables and fruit. Such as broccoli, carrots, bell pepper, celery, green onions, cucumbers, apples, oranges, etc. Two tablespoons of peanut butter contains approximately 190 calories with 130 calories of fat.

Cut out all processed sugars. In order to limit your intake of peanut butter (your protein), I suggest eating peanut butter on celery sticks or apple slices. You will consume less of it and will feel full after eating.

Milk that is 1% or skim is better than 2% milk. Milk also contains fat, so I would limit the milk intake to two 8 ounce glasses per day. Grapefruit juice may not go with everything you are eating. Sunflower seeds will not give you a full feeling after consuming them and you will still feel hungry.

Eggs are OK in moderation. Eating them everyday is not good for your cholesterol level.

Be careful using fad diets.

No.
Always eat a balanced diet, including fruits, vegetables, grains, oils (healthy ones like olive oil), dairy and meats.

Try:
Lean meats and fishes, many different colors of fruits and vegetables, skim milk, and whole grains.

Avoid:
Foods with the words "enriched," "hydrogenated," and "high fructose" in the first five ingredients. Juices, sodas (diet and regular), sweetened teas and coffees.

Know:
How many calories you're eating. Write it all down and track it on a site like sparkpeople.com. That site will also let you know how many calories you need to reach your goal.
That there is no way to target WHERE you lose fat from. Do cardio workouts appropriate for your age and fitness level (check with your doctor). Doing crunches ad sit ups will NOT remove fat from your stomach.

Milk is very fattening. I would stick to water as your only beverage but you need a bit more protein so you don't collapse. Please do this safely. Also, remember, that those 10 lbs will return quickly if you don't make some positive changes to your eating habits long term.
