I suggest a natural, organic food. Usually have to purchase at a natural pet shop. It is more expensive but will save you $$ in the long run: fewer vet bills, dog will eat less because the nutrition is better, less poop. None of the organic foods were on the pet food recall list. I like Inova, Prairie(my small guys love the salmon and brown rice), Newman's Own. I try to vary the food so they don't get tired of the same old thing.

When I started coming to this web site, I heard a lot about how important your dogs food is!! I literally read up on all the different dog foods, and I found most all the dog foods you can buy at your local super market, are NO GOOD for the little sweeties!! You should get a food with no fillers, low carbs. I have found that Innova EVO Red Meat is a great food and my dogs love it!! One of my boxers is very over weight, She has even lost a few pounds since she has been eating this, not that she doesn't like it, because she does, it's because this new food fills them up quicker and they require less to get full!! It is worth checking up on what your dog is mainly eating!! Good luck!

Innova, Canidae, Solid Gold, there are many good products out there. Go to the following sites listed below and choose. Personally, I use Solid Gold and Canidae. Solid Gold: Just A Wee Bit has very small kibbles so it might be more suitable for small dogs.

We actually had to talk about this at the vet for our small dog. She recommended Science Diet, Pedigree and Iams. She says it helps their teeth and regulate their diet.

you're going to get a lot of different opinions on this one... i feed chicken soup for the pet lovers soul brand ...what you feed is your choice, but pick a high quality food with little or no "fillers" and follow the instructions for your dog's weight
