I spend a lot of time on dash 9's
of course they are NOT a train, just a locomotive.
they are very nice, I much prefer them to EMD SD70's,
the ES44AC are good but I dont see where they are any better than the older DC engines, except they are new, new is always nice.

There are Dash 9's and Dash 9's. The newer ones with the 4400HP engines, especially if they are DC traction, take forever to load (power up) and to transition to dynamic braking, and are just plain slow. Give me an older one, with the 6000HP prime mover, AC traction, steerable trucks, and now we're talking. Rides kinda stiff but will pull a city.

no dash 9 train is not my favorite train

my favorite train is 1996 tube stock which are the stock that run on the jubilee line of the london underground,united kingdom

there motors sound superb when they start off

No. I still like the steamers. Any steamer. All the wide noses look alike to me.
