A lawyer?
Whether it is worth it, I cannot say? But family (especially a son) has got to mean more than money.

Depending on your level of health, first I would call the Police Dept. and find out if you can obtain a copy of the Report. There's always three sides to a story. His, Theirs and the Truth.
Since you stated [arrested again] this tells me they have history with him and it is quite possible resistance to arrest might have come into play or the perception of resistance, which is entirely a different thing.
After you obtain the Police Report, you can determine if you feel Legal Representation is necessary. If you are willing and have the funds to hire an Attorney, by all means allow your Attorney to handle all of the afore mentioned. But if you are not able to hire an Attorney, then getting as much information as possible will save you a lot of time & money.
Find out from the Police when you can speak with him. Get his side of the story instead of a reliable source as you say.
You need to find out if he will be released on bond or will he remain in Lock up until he can be arraigned, which will most likely be later today or Monday if their Docket is too full.
After you feel you have a good idea of what actually happened, then legal assistance is what you must obtain either by Private Attorney or Public Defender. You can get a public defender by calling the Court's Clerk of the Town you live in..

Ma'am, with all due respect, your focus should not be on how your son was arrested, but rather the fact he has been arrested multiple times. He may have been resisting arrest and been violent which would explain the force police deemed necessary to subdue him. You don't give his age, but whatever it is, he needs help and he needs it now. One day he will come to a very bad end unless an intervention occurs before that happens, and the path he is on now screams loud and clear he is heading for disaster.
So direct your energy and complaints to your son and finding help for him before it's too late.

So, let me get this straight. Your son has been taken into custody by the Police on more than one occasion.
Now, you allege that he has been illegally beaten by the police for, at least, the second time.
Sure, hire a lawyer, but maybe it's time to come to grips with the fact that your little darling is just a law-breaking, arrest resisting, scumbag who just might benefit, (not to mention the benefit to the rest of our law-abiding society), from some, well deserved incarceration time, rather than more coddling from mommy or daddy.
Nice parenting!

This is going to sound mean but you have nothing to report and nothing to say about it. You did not see the arrest, you did not hear anything except gossip. 90% of all arrests are now filmed and reviewed by a police-citizen commision. They determine if excessive force was used. Since your son seems to be a repeat offender you should have taught him some respect for the law.

Every police dept has a unit that investigates other cops. Go to the station and ask to speak w/ the on duty sgt., then ask for a complaint form and it should be investigated.

I would have a problem supporting this. Since your son is a habitual offender, he may have caused his own problems. If the witness files the form, and it is found to have merit, it will be taken care of. Actually would like to hear the ending on this. I guess I watch too many cop shows where a criminal is flopping and fighting while saying "I am not resisting".

Mam, I hate to say this but what was your son doing when he was arrested? If he has priors and th epolice know it, they will probably used what ever restraint they have to , due to previous behavior. Now I agree, there are some forms of brutality on the cops part but what is it about your son that has him in trouble all the time? Perhaps his parenting might come to question. Sorry, but he probably had it coming.

If you didn't see it, you can't make a complaint.
Hire a lawyer and follow his/her advice. Your son is going to need one anyway. The fact that you said "arrested again" tells me there is more to the story than a parent's discomfort.
Good luck, and focus on your health. Your son needs to be cognizant of the fact that his actions are hurting you.

Apparently you didn't teach your son to respect the laws of our country otherwise he wouldn't be arrested AGAIN... However, if 5 cops beat your son then make a complaint to the department. Good luck but he probably had it comin. And let me guess - he is innocent everytime he has been arrested...
