To Russia there are only two people in the world: Russians and "Cherno Zhopye" (Black Asses). So, this makes everyone who is not Russian a lesser being. It also explains, in part, the animosity towards Palestinians which is displayed by Russian Jewish emigres to Israel.
You also have to factor in the history between the U.S. and Russia going back to the First World War, when we invaded that country under the guise of "protecting munitions storage areas" after Russia signed a separate peace treaty with Imperial Germany.
