Ok here my problem, I am currently working on second shift, and there are no third shift, but since we are behind, they want to make a third shift, so my supervisor came and ask me If i wanted to work it. I told my supervisor No, supervisor say ok they will ask someone else if they wanted to do it. the next day supervisor come and tell me that I had to do it. so my question is can they make you do a shift you dont want to do.

Can they "FORCE" you? No. Can they tell you that if you don't work the required hours then you will no longer have a job. Heck yes they can!!! They can't put a gun to your head and make you do it, but no one is MAKING you work there either. So no, they can't force you to do it, but unless you are rich and working there for kicks, I suggest you get with the program. It is a job, not a vacation resort.
Sounds like you feel entitled to something that you aren't going to get.
Good luck in the world with that thought process.....

Depends on how they do it. If they are hiring people to take your place on 2nd shift while moving you, I don't think so. I am going by a seniority clause. May be a chance for you to move up the ladder though if this is a new shift.

I don't know if they can force you, but you may want to consider negotiating with them for a night shift differential and better benefits. You could always talk to someone in Human Resources, if the company has one. If you really don't want to work nights, than stick your ground. They may just be testing you to see how much they can push you.

Not really...you can always quit or go with the flow. Legally, I don't think they can MAKE you work 3rd shift.

I am not sure if they can force you to do this, the best thing that you could do is get hold of your local job service office or labor enforcement office and ask them. good luck

If you want to stay you have to play. If you need the job as much as they need you, then play. If not quit the team.
