what do you think about this proverb "nice guy finish last"? is it true?

i mean it's often that good guy didn't get what they deserve.but bad guys does.
example like bad guys always get the girls,they always get more respect from people.
it seems to me that there is no more room for good guys..

It is just fine to be nice, but i think that the saying "nice guys finish last" is another way of saying, if you tend to everyone else's problems and issues except yours, you are neglecting yourself... and your responsibilities.

I had a boyfriend who was very "nice"... he was a caretaker, and thought that if he always went out of his way to do nice things for others, he'd be better accepted. He was so busy doing things for others, that he neglected his responsibilities and himself.

So, he did finish last, in my opinion.

I don't like to say bad guy or good guy. That sound's a bit narcissistic. People with narcissistic issues tend to separate people into 'good' and 'bad' categories. They don't realize that everyone is a fallible f'd up, but still vey lovable human being. They tend to get easily sucked into hollywood and advertising images of perfect people(heros) and pieces of garbage.
I want to also point out one place where you are very perceptive. You see that there doesn't seem to be a force in the world that rewards 'good' people or 'good' deeds. My advice is to validate this observation. If you can accept this truth, albeit a painful one, you can negotiate this world much better, because you will stop expecting it to be true and you will take action with the knowledge that it isn't. Yes, people are selfish sometimes and the world isn't fair all the time. But there is good news. You don't need it to be fair or perfect. You don't need people to be selfess all the time to be happy. You were made to be in this world, not a perfect one. You have been given all the tools necessary to exist and be happy in THIS world, believe it or not. If you're not happy now, examine why this is true(now I'm not saying that this is an easy answer. Sometimes these things take years to figure out). You may not be getting everything you need now but I think you can find it if you try.

haha because you're foolish. Nice guys and bad guys , its depedent on guy to guy. If good guys finished last, this world would be screwed up. What really happens is because nice guys are usually non assertive and too pansy of a guy to approach a girl or attempt anything.

actually this phrase can mean 2 things. either you look at it as a loser, meaning you can't be the first. or you look at it as a winner, meaning you are the closer, he/she marry you. but I don't think either holds. some nice people end up with horrible ones. some horrible people have very nice partners.

Actually it is proof of why most of our politicians are political prostitutes. Honest candidates run, but they are unwilling to do what is necessary to get elected: accept bribes, solicit bribes, lie &c.
