of course it is ok!!! i think youre forgetting something! christian churches are just about the bible.. nothing else is added by man.. no preists that you have to confess to.. no beads that you have to pray with., no traditions that you have to follow.. just the plain old bible.. nothing that you have to repeat as if you are a robot.. just God.. thats it! its great! you dont have to do anything you dont want to do.. better songs too! and you dont pray to anyone else but God through Jesus.. everything that you do in a christian church you do in a catholic church.. but not everything you do in a catholic church is done in a christian church.. do you know what im saying? so even if you stayed catholic forever and believed that was the way to go, there is absolutely no harm in going to a christian service.. even if you never go to a mass again.. dont forget.. its about the relationship you have with God.. it has nothing to do with any of the traditions.. as long as you believe in Him and that He sent Jesus as Himself in human form to die for your sins, then you will go to heaven no matter what! all Jesus cares about is that you do worship him.. not where you do it!!!!!

If you are a Roman Catholic, you have an obligation to attend Mass every Sunday (or Saturday evening) and Holy Day of Obligation (in the USA under most circumstances these are New Year's Day, the Ascension in Spring, the Assumption of Mary on August 15th, All Saints Day on November 1st, the Immaculate Conception of Mary on December 8, and Christmas). You are also expected to make a confession and receive Communion once a year (in the US, between the First Sunday in Lent and Trinity Sunday).

So provided you are doing that, then current Roman Catholic law permits you do attend "born again" services. I'm not sure why you would want to do this, if you believe Catholicism is the truth. Did you know that there are Charismatic services in some Roman Catholic Churches? That way you can get your Mass and your born-again worship in one package!

Are you planning to leave the Catholic Church? The people in your weekly Born Again Christian organization all want you to denouce Catholiicism and join their denomination. Why don't you consider that the Catholic Church is a "born again" church with "born again" believers?

Perhaps you can convince some people in your "Born Again Christian" service that the Catholic Church teaching the truth and traditions from the apostles. If not then I believe you should either join a Bible Study group in the Catholic Church or start one for your parish.

Pastor Billy says: it is okay however learn your Christian faith first because if you do you'd already understand you are a "born again" Christian as a Catholic and funny enough you are born again the "bible way" something many so-called born again non-Catholics are not.

You should clearly understand what the Catholic Church teaches on interpretation of different biblical text before listening to non-Catholic preachers who may have an alternate interpretation which is not authentic or acceptable for the Christian Church of antiquity

Lastly remember you may be opening yourself up to slander and anti-Catholic propaganda as these two have been a corner-stone of Protestantism originating out of the English Reformation and then Protestant Americana.

addendum: listen to Midge's instruction and do not partake of the communion in a non-Catholic community as their communion does not represent what we really believe in the Real Presense of Christ. Their's is merely a symbol of fellowship and in taking part in that portion of the service would be dishonest to yourself and them.

i bypass as quickly as in a blue moon (my fam is Catholic) i'm married to a lapsed Catholic who additionally attends church with me. I discern it this form. God is familiar with our hearts. I make a factor to no longer say the Nicene creed or pray any prayers to Mary and that i do no longer settle for communion out of comprehend for the church. each and every now and then you're able to stumble on a good sermon; you will discover it plenty diverse from the place you generally attend. If something, you are able to evaluate it a non secular lesson interior the Catholic Mass. I too disagree with many practices, yet i would not be truthful if i did no longer inform you the custom and rituals are extremely beautiful to observe and notice up close and private. i would not sweat it too plenty. if your DH makes a decision he could desire to generally attend, you're starting to be greater of an argument at that factor. I wish you the superb! Gods peace :-)

I used to be Catholic and I also found a really good Born Again Christian church and was attending both. I would say that the Bible tells us to SEEK THE KINGDOM OF GOD and to SEEK GOD. So, I don't think there is anything wrong with doing that and I believe that we should go where ever God sends us. The Bible tells us that we should follow God not man. If God is leading you to go to both churches then that's what you should do.

it is NEVER ok to attend a Born Again Christian service, whether you are a Catholic, Jew, Muslim or anything else.
What are you thinking of? Don't listen to these ill-informed zealots. Go to the library and get 'Origin of Species' by Charles Darwin.
the truth really is out there!

God's Holy Word gives us that answer. I believe these scripture references may just be the ticket to this issue:

Galatians 1: 6-9; 1 Timothy 3: 16; 1 Timothy 4: 1-5

These are only a small sample

You need to go where the truth is proclaimed for worship, fellowship, and to get into His calling for you. Let no man tell you where. Seek it in His Word. It is there. Then find a local church that meets what God reveals to you in His Word. You will not find a perfect church regardless of denomination, however find the one closest to what God reveals to you in His Word. I suggest that you or anyone who truly wants to know the truth will find it. A great website to help you is:

Dear Paolo,

It is perfectly fine to attend any Christian service whatever your affiliation. Church is open to all. Matthew 18:20 states that "where two or three are gathered together in My name, I am in their midst". God does not just love Catholics or Protestants or Evangelicals. God loves all of us.

God Bless You,

Docmase

You attend both an evangelical Christian service and Catholic mass every week?

You really are a glutton for punishment, aren't you?
