If going to heaven was dependent entirely on being "good enough", no one would ever get in. People sin, it's human nature. Jesus died to take our sins, so all that is required is that we love him and repent. That doesn't mean we have a license to sin and then say "I'm sorry" and it's over. If you really repent, you stop what you're doing and don't do it again. Of course sometimes, you slip back into it again and have to start all over, but as long as you are sincere when you say, "Please forgive me.", He will.

Good question. Can you ever be good enough? The answer is no. "There is none righteous, no not one. We have all sinned and come short of the glory of God. And the wages for sin is death(spiritual death in hell). " So how do we get to heaven? Jesus is the only way. He took the penalty for our sins upon Himself and willingly hung on the cross, shedding His sinless, perfect blood on our behalf. If we believe in Him as our Savior we will have eternal life (heaven). Confess your sins and ask Jesus to be your Savior. Simple as that. He will come into you in the form of the Holy Spirit and will stay there forever. Nothing can take you out of His grasp once you believe in Him. This is the love of God. He sacrificed His only Son for you. This is the way He made for you to come to Him, to heaven, and be His child by adoption. Until then, you are a child of Satan, who rules this earth.

None are "good" enough. PERIOD. That's works theology. If you go by a list of do's and don'ts, we all fall short, Christians and Non-Christians. That is an "absolute".
When you accept that Christ's sacrifice on the cross was the "payment" for your sin's, past present and future, you can live a life that is free of worry. We try to do what's right out of GRATITUDE and obedience to Christs's teachings. We DON'T try to do right out of fear of punishment. When you become a child of God, he doesn't disown us.... we're his kids forever.
The thought that you have to be perfect is an illusion brought on by those who can't grasp the concept of original sin. It's the whole reason Christ came to earth... to give us hope in the life beyond this one.

Ultimatly, WE are the ones who chose where we spend eternity after we die. Not God... it's called "free will", which is both our blessing, and our curse.

God is love- that is why He sent His son to die in our place and pay the price that we could never pay ourselves. And because God is God, He is also Holy and Righteous- so "The wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord". He does not want to give us what we deserve, so He gives us a choice to receive the gift - if we choose to admit that we are a sinner, and accept Christ as payment for our sin, we will go to heaven, if not we get what we deserve- Because the "best" person on earth is still a sinner in the eyes of a Holy God- however look at His love-
The nails did not keep Jesus on the cross, His love did.

The Bible says, all sin is punishable by death. That means that if you die a sinner, you'll go to a place of punishment, hell. But, if you truly from the heart, are sorry for your past sins, and ask God to forgive your sins, and believe in your heart Jesus died to save you from your sins and punishment, Then when you die, you go to a reward, Heaven. God can't let everyone in Heaven, God loves everyone, and wishes all to go to Heaven. But letting a sinner off the hook, is like letting a murderer go free with no punishment. God is going to have His garden of Eden. That is why no sin will enter into Heaven.

This is my girlfriend speaking, not me. God gives us a free will and he gives us the choice. Everyone makes mistakes, always, big mistakes, little mistakes, but He is a forgiving God and if we accept Him and believe in Him we have a ticket to Heaven. "For whoever believeth in Me shall have eternal life." That's all ya gotta do. Just believe in him. Amazing huh?

Getting into Heaven is not about being good. It's about Believing that Jesus Christ was born here on earth and was sacrificed, (crucified) on the cross for our sins, because we can't be good enough. There is nothing you can do to get into heaven other than accepting Jesus as Lord and Savior of your life. Jesus died for YOU. He was and is the only way to get into heaven. You must believe that He loved you enough to be sacrificed for YOUR sins. Ask Jesus to come into your heart and be the Lord of your life.Ask Him to forgive you of your sins and help you to live as he would have you to live. If you don't have one, get a bible and start reading in Proverbs and James for instructions to live by. Read the new testament to understand the accounts of Jesus' life here on earth. God loves you and wants you to be in heaven with Him. Salvation is a gift. Jesus died because we can't get there without Him and He wants us to be there with Him in out appointed time. God Bless you in your search for salvation and I ill be praying for you. If ya want e-mail me at jffkjr@yahoo.com. God Bless!!!!!!!!!! Junior

Nobody is good enough, nor can be good enough, to go to heaven. Impossible without getting rid of all that nasty sin within. And that sin condemns you - and just how do you go about getting free of that condemnation? Read the Bible.

It is hard to tell how good one has to be. Humans will be good enough as long as they obey God, follow God's way of life and stay aways from Satan's bad way of life that he tries to show us. If we fall for Satan and realize we make a terrible mistake, we must repent to God for forgivenss. He does forgive. Worshipping God is the way to keep purifying our soul. If we keep on doing these things I am suggesting, I believe that will be good enough to get to be rewarded heaven.

How bad one has to be to deserve hell?
If God finds our sins LOT more than our good deeds after God's evaluation of our records that will get us in hell. Again it can not be said how bad one has to be for being thrown in hell. Because if our one good deed pleases God very much, He may forgive all our sins and send us in heaven.

For example read this story:

A man was extremely thirsty after travelling long distance in desert. When he arrived to a well in ground he did not find any thing to fetch water out. So he goes all the way down through the stairs attached to the inside wall of Well and drank water to quench his thirst. Then he came out. Going down and coming out was itself a hard work. When he came out a vey thirsty dog was standing there looking at man. Man realized he is thirty like he was thirsty before. So went back in the bottom of well and filled his shoe with water, came up and let the dog drink that water. God forgave all his sins for this deed to save life of a dog.

you should take jesus into your life and make it a constant effort to be loving and kind and obey the ten commandments to the best of your ability
