Whats exatly does the bible say about hosexuality? Is Jesus Christ against is? If you are, will he forgive you because doesn't the bible say that the lord will forgive you for whatever sin you have comitted?

The Bible does not condemn gay people. People who do not understand the Bible often say so, but they are wrong.

All Bible scholars worth the title know this. The injunctions against homosexual acts in Holy Scripture were ALL aimed at heterosexual people who perform in homosexual activity for a variety of hateful reasons: "all the people" of Sodom, for example, were out to rape the 2 angels in Lot's home. I know many many gay people and none of them rape other people. The supposed injunction in Leviticus that some fundamentalists love to haul out to support their hate of gay people, is a injunction against pagan idol worship. If they truly knew their Scriptures, they would know that in the original language, the word that gets translated "abomination" was a word that specifically meant participation in idol worship. Part of the worship of the Caananite gods Bael and Astarte involved orgies of men having intercourse with the temple priests.

All of this information is there for anybody who wants to find it. But people continue to use Holy Scripture to support their own prejudices, and twist the words of the Bible to fit their own agendas of hate.

Correct - God forgives sin (except the unforgivable sin - which does not apply here). Bible references which show a definite anti-homosexual view: Genesis 19:1-29; Leviticus 18:22; 20:13; Deut. 23:17 Judges 19:22; Romans 1:18-32; 1 Corinthians 6:9-11; 1 Timothy 1:9-10; 2 Peter 2:7-8; Jude 1:7.

The Bible is very clear about homosexuality. Here are some verses:

From the beginning: Gen 1:27 So God created man in His Own image, in the image of God created He Him; male and female created He them.

In the Old Testament: Leviticus 20:13 If a man also lie with mankind, as he lieth with a woman, both of them have committed an abomination: they shall surely be put to death; their blood shall be upon them.

In the New Testament: Matthew 19:4 And He answered and said unto them, Have ye not read, that He which made them at the beginning made them male and female,
5 And said, For this cause shall a man leave father and mother, and shall cleave to his wife: and they twain shall be one flesh
6 Wherefore they are no more twain, but one flesh. What therefore God hath joined together, let not man put asunder.

And from Dearest Lord Jesus Himself:
Mark 3:28 Verily I say unto you, All sins shall be forgiven unto the sons of men, and blasphemies wherewith soever they shall blaspheme

But to the ones who JUSTIFY those blasphemies and say that what they are doing is righteous and of God and therefore ask not for forgiveness, those same will surely be put to death

Chastity and homosexuality (from the Catechism of the Catholic Church):

CCC 2357 - Homosexuality refers to relations between men or between women who experience an exclusive or predominant sexual attraction toward persons of the same sex. It has taken a great variety of forms through the centuries and in different cultures. Its psychological genesis remains largely unexplained. Basing itself on Sacred Scripture, which presents homosexual acts as acts of grave depravity, tradition has always declared that "homosexual acts are intrinsically disordered." They are contrary to the natural law. They close the sexual act to the gift of life. They do not proceed from a genuine affective and sexual complementarity. Under no circumstances can they be approved.

CCC 2358 - The number of men and women who have deep-seated homosexual tendencies is not negligible. This inclination, which is objectively disordered, constitutes for most of them a trial. They must be accepted with respect, compassion, and sensitivity. Every sign of unjust discrimination in their regard should be avoided. These persons are called to fulfill God's will in their lives and, if they are Christians, to unite to the sacrifice of the Lord's Cross the difficulties they may encounter from their condition.

CCC 2359 - Homosexual persons are called to chastity. By the virtues of self-mastery that teach them inner freedom, at times by the support of disinterested friendship, by prayer and sacramental grace, they can and should gradually and resolutely approach Christian perfection.

It's not a sin. "Homo" didn't mean same-sex relationships until the 1900's. The Bible was edited many times by mortals. In fact, the Bible was translated from Hebrew. Many of the words like "homosexual" and "prostitute" were mistaken. The word "homosexual" was not even in the original Bible.

Go ahead, give me a thumbs down. This is the truth to me, and I don't care if anybody begs to differ.

After listening to all sides of an argument, one should form one's own opinions about such topics as homosexuality. Religious institutions, those who would interpret the Bible, and if necessary your own interpretation of the Bible should be set aside.

When you are less dependent upon others for your opinions, I believe you will adopt a live-and-let-attitude to behaviors which do not harm others.

I don't know but I don't think so. I think God cares about how well you live your life not your sexual preference and im a catholic...well suppose to be one atleast. But God and Jesus will forgive you if you repent so i guess that if you lived a good life that follows Jesus teaching you can go to heaven even if you are homosexual. ( i know some people will give me a negative but thats how i feel, Jesus and God are very forgiving.)

Screw that damn bible.Jesus Christ said love your neighbor and to never discriminate; and guess what the Christians and catholics do; they discriminate against everyone. These people are supposed to be spreading good and helping not rambling about gay people. This is how I know that bible has been modified from the real thing. I bet when that roman emperor decided to make Rome a christian religion, he decided to take what he wanted from the bible, and add his own things.

What I'm trying to say is read all the good in the bible; disregard the evil in it. People just blindly follow these mean Christians instead of trying to show love for their fellow people.

I'm my opinion gay people are just people that come to earth the same way as we do to teach people not to discriminate and to love everyone, not condemn them for LOVING another individual, why would god hate this? Is god as petty as us stupid humans. For real people show love not hate.

It most certainly is forgivable and homosexuals are not the only ones who have committed sexual sin---MOST people today have. We humans are really in a pitiful state when it comes to sexuality. Pope John Paul II had it figured out though---as crazy enough as it sounds considering he was celibate.
