definatly. even fatty yogurt is better than pancakes....reasons:
yogurt - fat free or not - is a dairy product which is something u need, its healthy. ur body needs milk in its system, and even if its not fat free yogurt its DEFINATLY better than pancakes. besides ur body does need some fat to work its fullest. recieving fat from healthy foods like yogurt is definatly the way to go
pancakes - carby, sugary, no nutritional value - and when you add syrup its MUCH worse. these are a startchy food that will hinder u in weight loss.
in fact, its best to lower ur consumption white bread foods altogether- especially white toast, pasta, and white rice, and the junky stuff like pretzles and chips. fill ur diet with fruits, veggies, meats, milk foods, and whole grain/ wheat bread.

Forget the bagel advice from Nurse Brandi as a bagel equals 4-5 pieces of bread. Yogurt and fresh fruit is a great idea but mixing it up in a protein drink is even better and will help you get through the morning without getting hungry.

yup-- pancakes arn't high in fat but they are pure refined sugar so they could actually be stored as fat if you eat to much if your body doesn't burn all that sugar right away. on the other hand, yogurt (lowfat) has sugar but also has protein--your body will use the sugar first and then burn fat because protein is used to repair muscle tissues.

Absolutely. But I would add some fresh fruit with it as well. And then maybe a bagel or something.
