This is what Peter says on the Day of Pentecost, under the influence of the Holy Spirit of God:

"Men of Israel, listen to this: Jesus of Nazareth was a man accredited by God to you by miracles, wonders and signs, which God did among you through him, as you yourselves know.This man was handed over to you by God's set purpose and foreknowledge; and you, with the help of wicked men, put him to death by nailing him to the cross."

Acts 2:22-23

This is what Isaiah wrote, over 700 years earlier:

"Surely he took up our infirmities
and carried our sorrows,
yet we considered him stricken by God,
smitten by him, and afflicted.

But he was pierced for our transgressions,
he was crushed for our iniquities;
the punishment that brought us peace was upon him,
and by his wounds we are healed.

We all, like sheep, have gone astray,
each of us has turned to his own way;
and the LORD has laid on him
the iniquity of us all."
Isaiah 53:4-6

So after all, it was you and me.

He was executed by the Romans for crimes against the State . His crime was - - claiming to have powers greater than the Emperor. At that time and place , it called for crucifixion , which is what he got . Thousands were crucified for far less .
The Jews didn't like Christ because he claimed to be the Messiah , which they didn't believe . But they had nothing to do with his execution .

A better question is why did the Jews have the romans do it when they had the authority to have him crucified. Not to mention that there are records (Babylonian Talmud) that indicates that Jesus was held for 40 days before being stoned.

Both Jews and Gentiles. The Jews screamed for his death and forced the hand of the Roman governor, Pontius Pilate. Pilate knew that Jesus was innocent and didn't want to order his death but he did it anyways. Then the Roman soldiers scourged him with a cat-'o-nine-tails and beat him with a staff and smashed the crown of thorns into his scalp. Then they crucified Him. So the responsibility falls on Jew and Gentile alike for His death...but He did it anyways because of His great love for us all.

According to God's statement in Quran, Jesus didn't get crucified. God made it look like Jesus was crucified because he replaced Jesus with another look a like man. He was the one who betrayed Jesus and reported Romans where they will find Jesus. Angels pickrd Jesus up from the room he was hiding in and took him to heaven alive. He will return back to earth at the same age because humans do not age in heaven.

All humans who will get to heaven for their good deeds will be the same age like Jesus and will never age.

Isaiah 53: All WE like sheep have gone astray; we've turned every one to his own way, and God poured all OUR iniquity on Him. Like a lamb they led Him out, yet He opened not His mouth, and His precious blood poured out, and offering for sin. He was wounded for OUR transgressions, He was bruised for OUR iniquities, OUR punishment was upon Him, and by His stripes WE are healed.

"I nailed Him there, this child of peace and mercy, I nailed Him there, I am the guilty man. I nailed Him there with my sins and my transgressions..." (from a song called The Hammer by Ray Boltz)

We all crucified Him, because He died for OUR sins, to be a perfect atonement sacrifice for all sins for all men for all time.

pontias pilate, technically but if you read scripture it was him who told the romans that Jesus shouldnt be crucified....he gave them a chance to choose between jesus and a common thief...the idiots choose Jesus and because they luckily made the wrong/right choice all who believe in Him to be the son of God get to go to Heaven....

It was orchestrated by the Jewish high priest---just like the Bible said had to happen for they were the only ones who were ordained to make the sacrifice that would attone for sins.

Romans, at the request of the Jews, yet willingly died to satisfy God's wrath toward sinful people.
