Your best bet is still a breeder who shows/breeds champions. This is because such a breeder puts a lot of time, thought, effort and money into producing the best, healthiest, soundest (physically and mentally) dogs that they can. Only a couple of pups out of the litter will be show quality, the rest make GREAT pets.
Failing that, try rescue.
Dogs are NOT cheap. The price you pay to purchase one is NOTHING compared to what you will spend to keep it properly.

we've 3 toddlers, a lengthy time period 13, 9 and six. We followed an 8 365 days previous Chocolate Lab. This dogs had by no skill been round toddlers, yet she on the on the spot became their perfect playmate. She takes turns napping in all and multiple's beds at evening and is continually up for a interest of fetch - interior or out. Labs have a acceptance for being large relatives oriented dogs. As for breeds that wouldnt do properly with toddlers, i won't be able to assert from adventure, yet i might want to hesitate to deliver between the superior breeds right into a relatives. (Rottweilers, Pitts, etc. - even regardless of the truth that I easily have heard from those that those breeds can make surprising relatives pets besides. )

I would start with the local humane society and shelters. Many of them often have purebred dogs.
Through the www.akc.org web site, you can find Belgian Sheepdog rescue organizations who are often looking for homes.
You may also have a local breeder who has pet quality dogs for sale. In most litters, there are at least one puppy who is not a show quality, and the breeders will sell them cheaper.

Here are the Belgian Sheepdogs in shelters near you.
You'll be saving a life, and money, too.

Try petfinder.org the fees are by the shelter and minimum compared to what you would pay a breeder. Each breed seems to have its own rescue program as well. Search under breed and rescue. You should get lots of hits. Good luck.
