There are a whole variety of anti-d's. You might ask your doctor about Paxil. I've never felt like a zombie on it and I've never heard of other people having this reaction. The side effects are weight gain (uuugh), and it's really hard to get off it if you decide to quit or change. I've been on it 12 years now and it really is a good drug.
Good Luck.

It may just be that your dose is too high for you or if you are just starting on it, your body is adjusting. The right dose of the right medication (for you personally) should NOT make you feel like a zombie at all. Nobody on here can tell you what you should switch to - not even a psychiatrist - because there are a lot of things to factor in when choosing medication and we know nothing of your symptoms, medical history, etc. The best we can do is tell you what has worked for us.

I've been on Zoloft, Celexa, Lexapro, Effexor & Wellbutrin. I'd say the last two have worked best for me...Wellbutrin without side effects (so I've been on that one for 8 years or so) but all were effective to a degree.

I second the Effexor recommendation. I was on Zoloft too and had a horrible experience; I switched to Effexor and all is well now.
Don't switch to Prozac, because the two drugs are very similar.

Hi...

you really need to consult your doctor. it's interesting to note, Zoloft had the completely opposite effect on me... so much so, that i ended up in the hospital...

everyone is individual, and just because a medication works for one person, doesn't mean it's right for another.

remember, if at any time, a med stops working or doesn't work at all, you need to tell your doctor. this is called "taking care of you".

I would wait till it gets hot! Like maybe the high 60's and low 70's. And go to ride him then. If he ddoesn'tdo any better and you are still worried about him then I ssuggestto talk to her and tell her you are worried. Sounds like shes trying to convince you everything is ok, for the money. The horse is oobviouslyin pain! If she cared much about horses she would call the vet. You and your parents should talk to her. Or check her legs if they are warm then she could of strained ir or worse. If her hooves is warm then she has an infection, stone bruise, or even abscess! So for your own good convence her to call the vet. If the horse goes lame. You dont want to be held accountable for it!

Prozac will not make you sleepy. Lexapro I think is the best. The feeling of being tired will go away after 3-4 months. If your not 3-4 months into the rx, give it time. Not taking it and having anxiety will make you even more tired and worn out.

Sertraline side effects

Get emergency medical help if you have signs of an allergic reaction: skin rash or hives (with or without fever or joint pain); difficulty breathing; swelling of your face, lips, tongue, or throat.

Call your doctor at once if you have:
- a seizure (convulsions);
- high levels of serotonin in the body--agitation, hallucinations, fever, fast heart rate, overactive reflexes, nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, loss of coordination, fainting;
- low levels of sodium in the body--headache, confusion, slurred speech, severe weakness, vomiting, loss of coordination, feeling unsteady; or
- manic episodes--racing thoughts, increased energy, unusual risk-taking behavior, extreme happiness, being irritable or talkative.
Common side effects may include:
- drowsiness, dizziness, tired feeling;
- mild nausea, stomach pain, upset stomach, constipation;

honestly, don't do anything until you talk to your doctor or psychiatrist. think about effexor or lexapro, i was on both and it helps with depression, but it doesn't make you a zombie. but again, talk to your doctor first!
