Start writing down everything you eat and drink, total it up and see how many calories you are getting each day.
It takes 3500 calories to lose one pound.
You can walk, each mile burns 100 calories.
There are no secret pills to give you energy or help you lose weight.
Change your lifestyle so you can maintain your healthy weight for the rest of your life.
Many people lose lots of weight and then gain it back faster than they lost it.
If you can exercise and that includes doing some weight lifting, walk, and control your eating you will lose weight.

Why not try weight watchers? I think it's about $15 a week, and maybe it would teach you better eating habits?
Your lack of endurance is probably from being idle a lot and the smoking... if you want to quit, talk to your doctor, or get nicotine gum or patches?
Also, instead of running, WALK briskly.... it's better for you , anyway... and not so hard on your spine. Brisk walking burns calories, helps to get rid of your stomach and tightens muscles. Start with 20 minutes a day, 4 times a week and work your way up.... Walking briskly will also give you a mental "LIFT"... exercise releases endorphins (happy hormones) in your brain, and actually makes you feel better, more positive. Perhaps try it?
take care, and dissolving fat means fewer calories, a better diet and some exercise... mix it up! good luck!

Stop smoking, that will first of all bring up your endurance, and stop the gasping, and add ten years to your life. If you say running is out, try walking long distances, go to the gym, do some weights, it dosent thave to be alot but ts better than giving up running. a pill might help but you will get stuck in the yo yo diet effect, your wieght will be all over the map. Wish you the best of luck!

weight watchers is a great idea but if you cant do that eating right is a start and exercise start slow with the exercise because if you get really sore you wont want to work out for a while and then your not getting anywhere. try 15 min a day and then next week go to 20 and so on. walk at a slow pace for a blok then fast for a block. intervel works great.
