There is nothing romantic about making a new recipe for the first time to seduce someone. I suggest that you prepare something you have done before, that you are comfortable doing.
Food is not romantic, it can be sensual, aphrodisiac but not romantic.
Romantic is the atmosphere, the ambiance you give the surroundings of your meeting place. Romantic can be a nice dress table with candle light, music and a nice bottle of wine. Romantic can also be a glass of wine in a bubble bath, as an appetizer, before sitting down for dinner and then having chocolate covered strawberries in a candlelit bedroom.

ROMANTIC is the thought and effort you put into it.
Enjoy !

Pick up an already-assembled salad at the store, and at home, mix some lemon juice and oil (with S&P) to make dressing. Bake potatoes at 350 for about an hour until soft, and serve with butter/sour cream. Salt and pepper 2 steaks, and cook in skillet on stovetop at high heat with a little oil. Remove steaks and lower heat. Pour about 1/4 cup each of beef broth or stock and red wine into pan, and reduce by 1/2. Turn off heat and mix in 1 tblspoon butter. Drizzle this small amt of sauce over the steaks. Serve meal with red wine.
For dessert: ice cream topped with chocolate (or strawberry, whatever!) sauce and topped with crumbled cookies. Easy, and sexy if you put the ice cream in a wine glass and serve it that way.
Don't forget the candles and music!

Romantic dinners are also about ambience! Be sure and bring out the candles, nice table linens, music, and wine. Here are some ideas for dinner:
1. Roasted chicken with herbs, mashed potatos, and fresh green beans with lemon zest. For dessert, apple crisp.
2. Grilled ribeye steaks with baked potatos, green salad, and for dessert, peach cobbler.
3. Pork roast with mashed potatos, roasted carrots, mushrooms, zuchinni. For dessert, chocolate lava cakes.
4. Swordfish steaks with caper butter, twice baked potatos, and sauteed spinach. For dessert, cream de menth sundaes.
5. Teriyaki salmon on the grill, wild rice pilaf, peas and pearl onions. For dessert, chocolate brownies.
6. Chicken with artichokes in a wine/dijon sauce, rice pilaf or orzo, baby lettuces salad with bacon and candied walnuts, white chocolate raspberry bars for dessert.
Find out what your special person's favorite foods are and see if you can incorporate them into your menu. Have fun!

For a romantic dinner I recommend you stay away from onions and garlic. (breath issues). A well broiled steak and baked potato with simple vegtables is best. Here is a hint, brush the steaks with Gravy Master before placing them under the broiler. The outside will be crispy and delicious.
