about ten years ago and before that, vaccines were made using attenuated live viruses. People that were immune compromised did indeed get the flu from those old vaccines. But for the last ten years, vaccines are made from the protien coat of DEAD viruses, there is NOTHING in any vaccine that can cause the illness it is innoculating you against. If you become ill after getting a flu shot, it is because you already had the illness and the shot was coincidental.

Nope. Entirely a myth. You cannot get the flu from the flu shot. Studies have shown that if you get the flu right after receiving the vaccination, you were going to get it anyway. Go ahead and get the shot - it will protect you! People lose their lives every year from the devastating illness.

I dont think that anyone knows that answer for sure. I always get a flu shot every year. My trick (and I really dont know if it helps or not, but it sure cant hurt) is that I take a couple of Tylenol a couple hours before I get my shot. I have never had any problems and getting the shot has never made me sick. I think a lot of it has to do with a persons immunity and how easily they get sick.

When they give you a vacination, they are actually giving you the flu, but in a small dose. You have stuff in your body the can help you beat the flu, it's just, sometimes your body can't find it quickly enough. The purpose of the flu shot is to give your body time to find there flu antibodies so when you get the real flu, your body will be prepared.

If you are allergic to egg products.Yes you can have a reaction. They usually ask you before hand. Also the shot is for the strain that they think is going to be prevalent that year. I had a pneumonia shot and 2 months later I got pneumonia.Why. Because the shot was for one strain and I got another. You just hope they pick the right strain to treat that year.
