Because your prophets have done a lot of this.

If a prophet's word can be overriden, why do you have any confidence that it's correct now?

Don't tell me I don't know what I'm talking about because I can post numerous references to your own doctrinal changes and prove you wrong.

Stiggo: Can Mickey Mouse override Donald Duck? It's a meaningless concept. Neither are correct.

I think I'll just override the whole prophet issue and do what I can on my own to decide what is right. There are just too many who claim to be personally endorsed by God, yet don't agree with each other.

Well, then, I guess that Christianity can't override Judaism, right?

I agree that neither is correct. I'm sorry for assuming that you were just against Mormonism rather than religion as a whole.

then why are you asking the question if you have the proof? and to the answer above. that was said by Brigham Young the man not Brigham Young the prophet (if it was said at all). Prophets are not infallible. they do speak their own opinions sometime, but they never claim their opinion as revelation.

back to your question, why ask if you are so sure on the answer already. oh and good luck winning an argument with me. have at it.

I read a transcript once of a speech by Brigham Young where he said that "the day that blacks gained the priesthood would be the day the church is no longer true".

That statement by itself disproves the mormon faith.

EDIT: plastikp... or yeah, with the goggles down there. That was said at a general conference and it's my understanding that makes it "officially" from god in mormons' view.

Continued revelation my friend. Continued.

And whom has ever claimed their message is "unchangeable"? I have never heard that.

You must really like grasping at straws because you do it so much!!

I agree with Matt. They are constantly changing their view on things. If it was "the truth" then, then it would be the turth now.
Polygamy, view on African American's in the church etc. etc.
