I had surgery to remove my gallbladder back in August 2004. I had stones and I had got to the point to where I couldn't even walk. It was so painful. I went through at least five doctors before one found out that my pain was due to stones in my gallbladder. At first everyone thought that it was gas or acid build up. So I was put on Nexium, given Maalox, and even Aciphex. All of these medications didn't work at all. Since the surgery, I still experience the same pain as before. It's constant pain (always there) and sometimes it get real extreme. I've been through everything from simple medication to a biopsy. And still my pain persists. I just want to know if there is anyone out there experiencing the same pain or someone who has gone through the same surgery and how you cope with it or if there is anything I can do to get rid of the pain.

It is possible they did not remove the bile ducts when they performed the surgery. I would suggest you get with the surgeon and find out if that is the case, and if so why they left it in since stones can still form in the duct.

if the gall bladder was indeed the problem, the pain should have stopped with it's removal. that you have persisting pain indicates to me that the gall bladder was not the problem. Suggest you see an internal medicine specialist.
