I am so sorry for your loss. My 1st cousin lost her 12 year old son a year ago. He was playing on a sand hill and it collapsed on him suffocating him and killing him. We are very close with this side of my family and even buy x-mas gifts for each others kids (her son was exactly one month younger than my nephew).

She is still having a hard time. There are days when I see her and it seems like she isn't even there. But then others are better. She went through counseling and still goes. She was also put on anti-depression medication because she says its the only way she could get out of bed. She just wanted to curl in a corner and die.

Remember this is always going to be hard and you will always think about it, and that's okay. The pain will never go away but the frequency of the bad days will become fewer.

She says that whats helps her most is being able to talk about him and people remembering him. She says the worst thing is when people try to avoid it. She wants to remember him and all of the good times.

Good luck. Try different things and find something that gives you comfort even if others disagree with your decision.

Again, I am sorry for your loss.

I'm really sorry about your loss. Find comfort in knowing that they are in Gods hands now and you will see them again. Missing someone, especially a child, must be the hardest thing to go through in life. I know God and time will heal your heart. You might not ever be exactly the same as you were when your child was alive, but you must live your life each day to the fullest because there is a plan for your life. That means keep your child in that special part of your heart always but know that you have to still live in the best way you can and do this in memory of your child. Let God give you strength and peace. Take care.
