Permethrim pesticides are only a "kill on contact" spray. They are some of the weakest products out there. I have read the information on the Skoosh product and I have very little faith in the effectiveness of it. It may "trap" the eggs and pupae in silicone, but only for maybe 6 weeks. Eggs and pupae can lay dormant for 6 months to one year, so if the product wears off, they can still hatch and you haven't solved your problem at all.

A product that I use regularly with great success is call Ultracide. This is a spray that you can buy on-line at most do it yourself pest control companies or even on e-Bay. When following the instructions correctly and regularly vacuuming, you can solve the flea problem fairly quickly. (I have seen the problems cured in less than two weeks.)

If you have any question, feel free to e-mail me. I own a pest control company and have worked in the industry for over 8 years. Good luck!

People on here are not understanding how to properly control fleas, or how Skoosh works.

Skoosh doesn't just trap the fleas, it suffocates them, and the eggs and larvae. So they don't just hatch out after the stuff wears off, they're dead!

Go with Skoosh. It's pesticide free, and one of the few sprays that actually does tackle the eggs and larvae as well as the adult fleas.

Some of my previous favourite sprays contain permethrin, but with other stuff as well. I'm happy to move away from them and go with Skoosh because I actually hate permethrin in spot-on products (like you get in pet stores) and am not therefore entirely happy with having it anywhere near animals.

Just to be sure - you obviously do need to treat any animals you have in the house as well, and not with ANYTHING from a pet store, it has to be something from a vets, like Frontline.

I'd use Advantage. Monthly application until all the fleas are gone. Permithin sprays in the amount you are using can be harmful.
To get rid of fleas you need to treat the whole area. House, bedding, yard if you have a huge infestation. If just a few fleas, the Advantage will kill fleas and eggs. The few fleas around will jump on the dog and be killed also.

Skip the whole thing and use Frontline Plus or Advantage monthly. The fleas will be gone quickly with the use of a lot fewer toxic chemicals.

Hm - I seem to be the only one who's actually heard of it. Was it me that recommended it to you?! Skoosh is a VERY new product, it's only been out like, 2 months. So I'd be surprised if you found anyone on the internet who's used it. There's no reason it should be harmful, silicone is non-toxic. Remember we implant it in our, an animal's bodies! Chalice

There are two different products that you can use which are brilliant, and you can get them from your vet
1) Virtac - Indorex Household Flea Spray
2) Ceva- Stay Kill Household Flea Spray

I'd also recommend that you frontline your pets as well.

ditch the sprays and use boric acid. go to your grocery store, look in the laundry section, look for a product called 20 mule team borax, sprinkle it on your carpets, and rub it in with a broom. wait a week and then vacuum. throw out your vacuum bag and you should not have anymore fleas. also make sure your pets have been treated with either advantage or frontline.
