Many religions do not accept any type of paranormal activity as being anything more than a demonic presence working to possess and move you away from the Lord. Yet the Bible is full of paranormal events. I understand they believe it was different because God used these experiences to make a point. My question is if you saw Jesus in spirit form telling you of salvation and what you must do to survive, would you believe it is truly the spirit of Jesus or is it a demonic presence sent to lead you astray? How can you positively differenciate between the two? Cannot someone be religious AND believe in the paranormal without saying it is demonic?

That is a difficult question for me, since I was raised to believe all manifestation of spirit is evil...This part of my early indoctrination, I am not clear about yet.
If I had Jesus come and talk to me, I would post haste get into the scriptures and find out, also I would spend countless hours in conversation with those who I trust to help in the scriptures.
The Bottom line is ...If God spoke to you, God has the power to convince you that it is him...If it is not of God, then
God still has the power over evil, and the bible promises that Satan can not be in the same Body of one saved where the Holy spirit resides.

Yes. I am a pastor & believe that there is more than just demonic activity going on out there. For instance, I know of Muslims who have seen Jesus & he told them about salvation. These same men now are following Jesus.
I guess for me, if there is some message by some angel or other being, I would check it with Scripture to see if it adds up. For instance, many people have seen apparitions of Mary telling them to "pray the rosary", clearly these messages are directly opposed to Scripture & I would attribute these appearings to be not of God but of Satan, leading innocent people astray.

After 14 years of paganism, I am atheist. It wipes away the ego and preconceived notions, so that the unfiltered experience can manifest itself. I never give anything a name, nor do I seek to personify it. The paranormal things that go about unexplained are just that. No god, no spirit, no angel, no deity.

There are no records in the Bible that people who encountered with God ever doubted.. I do not think that having a vision with the most high can be ever confused with demons.. About the paranormal it is obvious that is the devil wanting to deceive you making you think that there are dead souls around..

What do you feel in your own heart? Ask yourself is there more out there? How do you feel about it? Think for yourself and let NO ONE control YOU!
