I saw this coming...When Childress said it wasn't going to be adding a 4th car, I knew this was going to come up...Face it Smoke in a Toyota, that doesn't even sound right...I can not see Tony staying with JGR more than 1 season, he might give it 2008, but if Smoke doesn't win.....No way will he stay..Heck, he might even go for 2008..Tony is a GM guy..I'd say go Tony...I can't see him in the #3.. Tony needs to go to RCR, if not we are going to be in for a wild yr with him, you think we all have heard the worst things Smoke can say...They will have to put a muzzle on his mouth next yr, if JGR can't get it together in the Toyota for him....There will be more whines, and cussing than all of can stand.....I think he should get his butt in a Chevy where he belongs...

Here's a better scenario for you than him going to RCR. He finishes out his contract with Gibbs and either CAsey Mears contract expires with HMS or Rick Hendricks gives him the boot and hires Stewart to form the most dominant driving stable of all time. Headlined by Gordon and with Johnson Smoke and Jr. on board, just hand the cup to HMS every year.

This is the first that I've seen, other than just hearing rumors.
I didn't now that Tony had an out in his contract with JGR.
And I think that he'd be good with RCR, but he won't get
the No. 3 car. RCR has pretty much retired that number,
even if NASCAR won't. I'm also happy to hear that Tony
is being loyal to a manufacture in this day and age when
most drivers aren't.

If he does go to RCR, I could be a fan of his again. I doubt it's going to happen because at the press conference when JGR announced the switch to Priuses next year, Smoke sounded like he was okay with the decision.

If you read the written report, it is relating rumors. Tony has a contract thru 2009. RCR hasn't said anything like that, yet.
Wait until it is official. Rumors are a waste of time.
It keeps reporters in the lime light and the rumors flying.

WOW!!!!! What a team RCR would be!!! They are awesome now but with Tony there, they will be "smokin awesome!!! I think it will happen, Tony doesn't want to be in anything but a Chevrolet and RCR has one just for him!!!! Hey maybe Jeff Burton can teach Tony some manners on the track!!!!! Anyways I guess we all have to wait and see what happens.

Go RCR!!!
Go Jeff Burton!!!

HMMMMMM!!!!
I am a die hard RCR fan & HARVICK fan......but im not to sure about this one!!!!
Sounds Questionable to me.......guess all we can do is wait & see.....
I dont like the thought of him with RCR that's for damn sure!!!
He's a loose cannon and i dont like the way he has been portraying himself this past year!!! If he can find some internal peace or something right quick like a major attitude adjustment he might be able to redeem himself....but at the rate he's been going this year......i dont like the thought of him representing RCR!!!!

GO HARVICK & RCR!!!!

That would be pretty cool. He races for wins not money so I don't think he would be happy riding around in a Toyota that isn't nearly as good as his Chevy. He won't stick around when his contract is up if Gibbs struggles.

I don't that anyone would really want to run the 3 car though. Those are some huge shoes to fill and the pressure would be unbelievable.

JGR will do what it takes to retain Stewart. He's still their golden boy (in spite of all the baggage he packs with him), and unless they had a driver of equal standing to replace him with, it'd never happen.

What Toyota is doing on the track now is irrelevant to this issue. What they better be doing in engineering and development is of greater consequence.

Ya know there isn't much going on when rumors like this get perpetuated. Just 2 weeks ago, everyone was sure Reutimann was leaving MWR.

Stewart to RCR would be fine. If they put him in the number 3 that would make me sick.
