i have been smoking pot for 2 years now, but i have smelt it on my father for a long time before that. i have found various roaches and nuggets around the car also. i think it would be awesome if me and my father could smoke together but im just too afraid of the confrontation and of the consequences of me telling him i smoke as well. would he yell at me and ground me or would he ask me to join him one day? what should i do?

you did not mention your age.. If you are 16 and have been doing since 14 I say no do not say a word but if you are now 17 or 18 I would be round about asking him.. I think I would probably (when he just comes in from outside) Just sniff a little and kind of chuckle and say hey pop (or what ever you call him) you smoking pot? Hee hee hee.... He probably will say why did you ask that and you tell him you tried it one time and that's what it smelled like.. DO NOT, mention you have been smoking for 2 years... EVER< NEVER!!! I think it will all work out... Good luck Grant M in Pennsylvania

If your grades are good then I would be upfront with him but if your grades are bad stop smoking get your education first then you can always start smoking again would rather see you smoke than drink alcohol just do it in moderation or if your going to party do it on the weekends best of luck!! P.S. I have 2 kids and told them they would get punished if i found out they were smoking before they graduated well one graduated and the other will be in 2yrs then will be happy to smoke with them! Will be smoking with the one that graduated shortly!!
and I've smoked it right in front of them since little on and they knew it was illegal when 11 and 13yrs old. Saw my actions interactions with people and their father who drank alcohol
obnoxious, always acting the fool, now their older and wiser and realize i was telling them the truth all along and that the government lied to them at least where smoking weed is concerned and that's all i ask of anyone make your own judgements

I'm sure that you can't "pretend" you don't know. Why give others the impression you are a moron?

If you want to acknowledge the fact that your dad is a pothead, then you can mention you see he smokes.

Doing drugs, and drinking with parents isn't the greatest or healthiest thing.

I used to drink, and do other things -- my life has changed considerably and for the better since i put it all down.

take care.

Once upon a time I used to smoke pot. Now no more. Drugs are a drag and clean is in. Good luck to both of you.

I cannot imagine WANTING to do drugs with my parents. I saw my Mother smoking with a friend of mine (they ended up getting married) and it was WEIRD. I knew both my parents were not oblivious to drugs, and they knew I certainly played with them, but doing them with my parents? NO WAY. Some things just need to be left alone.

I don't think he would be mad at you because he is doing it, too. So, ... maybe.
