Surely you should be:
3Now I want you to realize that the head of every man is Christ, and the head of the woman is man, and the head of Christ is God. 4Every man who prays or prophesies with his head covered dishonors his head. 5And every woman who prays or prophesies with her head uncovered dishonors her head—it is just as though her head were shaved. 6If a woman does not cover her head, she should have her hair cut off; and if it is a disgrace for a woman to have her hair cut or shaved off, she should cover her head. 7A man ought not to cover his head,[b] since he is the image and glory of God; but the woman is the glory of man. 8For man did not come from woman, but woman from man; 9neither was man created for woman, but woman for man. 10For this reason, and because of the angels, the woman ought to have a sign of authority on her head.

It's very simple. Fellowships that allow women to pray with uncovered heads are not Christian. It's quite a good test- not an infallible one, because false Christians can pass the test also.

I remember reading something like that in Leviticus... anyway, a few weeks ago some of the women in my church were just speaking about that so they all started coming in with hats on, it made the congregation look a lot prettier with all those colours!

OK. Corinthians I chapters 7 and 11. It seems to me that this is much more extreme than anything written in the Qu'ran! That women should cover there heads and maybe envelope their bodies seems to be because men are weak, and that they (the men) should be protected from temptation.

By right, females should cover their heads with hats or clothes. However, we have churches all over the places with different styles. Many of them preach to suit themselves and are actually after money and not after the Bible.

does it say anywhere in there that wearing or not wearing a head covering is a sin?

most people aren't concerned about dishonoring their heads, only with dishonoring God...

don't get caught up in legalistic stuff and concentrate on controlling truly sinful behavior...

Maybe you also think that menstruating women are an abomination to the Lord and shouldn't step outside their front door. Times change, deal with it.
