The .480 Ruger and .475 Linebaugh are the same bore diameter, and both are larger diameter than the .454 Casull.
The .480 Ruger and .475 Linebaugh are ballistically very similar. However, there is more potential for increased power and velocity with the .475 Linebaugh than with the .480 Ruger.
FWIW, there is also a .475 Linebaugh Long, that leaves both the standard .475 Linebaugh, and the .480 Ruger sprawled in the dust when comparing energy, and velocity. I wouldn't shoot one on a dare. I know my limit and a .454 Casull is on the upper edge of it, a .475 is past the "point of no fun" for me.

The .475 Linebaugh and .480 Ruger use bullets of the same dimeter, although the nominal cliber differs. A .45 is obviously smaller in dimater than a .475. As for power, the .475 Linebaugh wins. The .475 linebaugh and .480 Ruger are analogous to the .44 Magnum and .44 Special. I own a .500 Linebaugh. The .475 has similar velocity with a smaller diameter bullet. It was developed when the source of .500 cases dried up, but they are made again, so I stick with the .500.

Between the three, the latter two are almost identical, dimension-wise, and probably velocity & energy-wise.
The .475 & .480 use the identical caliber bullets, and the only difference in the cartridge cases is that the .475 is a piddly .0015 in longer than the Ruger.
The Casull, as powerful as it may be, probably comes in a far third place between the three.

475 Linebaugh. Think of the 480 Ruger as a "Linebaugh Special" in its design.

It's a simple math problem. I've done the math: .475, hands down.
