I think that it is not what where do you put dharma in your life but where does your life fit in dharma? The term dharma is so all encompassing that it has to be that way round. The nearest term to it I can think of in Western language is that of life's underlying principles. The enduring, immovable laws of life that you can break yourself against trying to get round them but if you will just accept that some things are right and others are wrong you will have a much happier, fruitful existence. These are the lighthouses if you like, that help us to navigate through life. To continue the analogy I would suggest that where individual lighthouses are certain principles then dharma might be considered to be the Lighthouse Keeper's Association. Dr Steven Covey (7 Habits of Highly Effective People) goes into this in some detail in his teachings although I have not heard him refer to the term dharma specifically.
So, to answer your question I would say that dharma is in our lives whether we accept it or not and the state of our personal existence depends on how we go with it or against it.
Live long and peacefully.

You need to be more specific with the word. Dharma is used by many applied in several ways.
But if your understanding of Dharma in case is teachings, then which teachings are you talking about?
As a Theravada buddhist, Dhamma is always there to everybody. Some reject it such as christian fundies, as it doesn't fit into their delusion.
Dhamma is what we observe, test and verify. It is not a belief, which is why I, from your question, assume your use is not buddhist, or your simply don't really know what the word means.

Firstly , please understand it clearly that Dharma is different from religion.
Dharma is the path of righteousness. the fundamental set of value system which basically are same in all religions.
Faith, i.e religion is a way of life prescribed by the relious head of the particualr faith who is the founder, father, or propounder of the particular religion.
religion includes a set of instructions, do's and donts, rituals and traditions, which encop[*** almost all the aspects of life as we live in this world physically.
Dharma is the eternal set of values which always giovern your conscience and deter you from doing wrong things. The emotions, feelings, temptations always lead you wanting to do things which may not be right.
The governing sense which helps ypu to decide what is right and what is wrong, is " Dharma".
