6 week old kittens are too young for any spot-on, it has to be Frontline spray. You can get a bottle of it for around £16, and it works.
Don't get ANYTHING from a pet store, for a kitten or for adults. Pet stores are not licensed to sell stuff that works, so don't waste your money. Flea collars an shampoos are also useless.
You don't have to actually take the cats to the vet if you don't want to, though it helps for vets to show you how to use the spot-ons if you haven't before - they have to go on the skin of the animal. You have to back comb the kitten's fur as you spray, and rub it in to the skin as much as possible.
A pack of 3 months supply of Frontline for your adult cat costs around £16.
Oh, and don't be wasting your time washing your kittens in Dawn dish soap or trying to comb the fleas away or whatever else anyone suggests - Frontline spray is safe for use on kittens from 2 days of age.

I have actually used a very mild flee treatment on kittens that were 7 weeks old. you must dilute it with warm water, put an old flannel in this mixture and slightly wring it out, then wipe the kitten all over with it, but make sure you wipe dry as quick as possible.
Having cats & kittens de-flead at a vets is very expensive. You can go to a good reputable pet shop & purchase revolution flee treatment, & you just open the vile & put on the back of the cats neck. It comes in a pack with 6 viles in it but last for 6 months for 1 cat & each vile last for about 1 month, costs around $55.00 You can also purchase the same flee treatment for kittens, but it also can be costly depending on how many kittens you need to treat. When you go to the vets, you have to pay a consultation fee plus what the flee treatment cost. It would be best if you rang a few vet & get some prices.

you do no longer prefer to bathe w dish cleansing soap. Dish cleansing soap is a grease remover which will eliminate each and every of the oils from the floor and reason pores and skin issues. there's a flea pill thst you factors a kitten at 6 weeks. Its observed as capstar. you may get it at a vet (without rx) or a puppy save. Its approximately $4-5 a pill even though it kills all fleas in 30mins. it works! desire this facilitates!

i have found that you can buy Johnson's 4Fleas tablets for kittens aged 6 weeks and up, you have to eother mash the tablet up in their food or just place it directly in their mouth.
i bought a little syringe that you fill with water, place the tablet in the end and then squirt the water and the tablet into the mouth.
Johnsons4fleas works by killing the fleas from the inside, you tend to find that the fleas will just fall off your kittens dead!!! So remember to hoover everywhere after!!
The tablets cost about £4.50 for four. You can buy them from Pets at Home or any good pet shop.
You can buy Frontline spot-on but it never worked on my cats.

Just be careful not to use anything toxic because kittens have little lungs.
