Are you serious? I don't think there is a better, faster car for the money. I would LOVE to own a 350Z. If it's not fast enough there are LOTS of upgrades available. Do yourself a favor and go test drive one before making up your mind. I highly doubt you will be disappointed.

If you want "good reliable semi fast" and you have an RX-8 in your list, then you have not done very good research. The 350Z is much more reliable, and much faster. The RX-8 is a rotary engine, which, in this emissions-crazy market, doesn't have a chance for power. It is theoretically a good engine, but practically it does not cut it. When they first came out, people realized they were lying about horsepower by a lot, like cars they claimed had 255 actually only had like 210. Mazda had to buy back the cars from people at full purchase price, or give them an awesome warranty. The car still has issues, as a rotary engine naturally is supposed to burn oil, so you have to check oil more regularly. In addition, it is a less common engine, so less people can work on them. If you are just going to get a decently fast car, consider the 350Z. Some of its competitors, price and performance wise, are the Mustang, Audi TT, Camaro, Honda S2000, Mitsubishi EVO, and Subaru STi. Honestly, any of the above will be fun for you, go for the one that you like the best, based on test drive, looks, and price.

Not so fast! But very quick 350Z has 307 hp 2007 model and Z performance guys have already put in stroker cranks to make a 4.2 liter twin turbo car. SKYLINES of the future. Until the $80,000 Skyline GTR comes out next fall. 350z is just about the best bargan today in under $40,000 sports car. Mitsubushi Lancer EVO9 with a few mods is way to fast for a 4 cyl car, and might out run the Z. Corvette costs $47,000 ZO-6 Vette tops $80,000

If the 350Z is slow you must be living in slow motion. Save up 200 grand and buy a ferrari. maybe a jet engine and strap it to your roller blades. that might suit you.
