For months now I've been getting this pain immediately below the center of my ribs. It starts off as a tight feeling and gets progressively more painful. It hurts just to touch the area and feels a lot like being punched in the stomach very hard.
Last night it got so bad I started vomiting.
I went to a doctor about a week back but by the time I got to see them I was fine again. Usually it lasts about 6 hours.
I will be going to another doctor, I just want to know if anyone has any ideas what it could be.
It's bugging me.

Possibly a hiatal hernia. It's at the junction of the stomach passing through the diaphragm. It generally isn't painful to most people but it can be acute and become a reason for emergency surgery. Think of this first - it's somewhat common. See this link: http://www.emedicinehealth.com/hiatal_hernia/page3_em.htm#Hiatal%20Hernia%20Symptoms

I would also suspect esophageal hernia, acid reflux disorder, stomach/esophageal ulceration, spastic cardiac sphincter, and the list goes on and on... So... get a good diagnostician when you shop for a new Doc..

DO NOT TAKE THE TREATMENT ADVICE GIVEN ABOVE - NOT ANY OF IT. See a doctor as you've already planned.

Good luck. (and yes... get a better MD/DO.)

I am sorry I can't help. But you should start a journal and write down as much as you can what brings it on, how long it last, how often, what you ate or didn't , anything you can think of and take it to the doctor with you. Good Luck. Hope you feel better.

Did you seldom pass urine? Try to drink water as mush as you can. Use hot bag to put on your stomach area as many time as you can *before meal. Drink some yogurt. Try it and you can delease the pain soon. Good luck.

Any pain that makes you cry demands medical attention. You could have something going on with your colon or a cyst on your ovary, get to urgent care.
